The second Füdi Meal that I chose to make was the Chicken Cacciatora with Pearl Barley and Kale. I had never had “Chicken Cacciatora” before; Wikipedia tells me that it is an Italian “hunter” type of prepared chicken and actually spelled with an E at the end of its name — cacciatore. Nevertheless, I was excited to see what this one would taste like.

Contents: quarter chicken (thigh and leg, deboned and skinned), 1/4 cup of pearl barley, 1 cup of uncooked organic baby kale
As I mentioned in my first post (more detailed about what Füdi Canada is), it is extremely easy to make this frozen dinner to eat at home. It goes from the freezer to your plate in about 15-17 minutes — how much longer it takes after that depends on how fast you dump out the food from the pouches before you eat it, haha. The pouch contains two vacuum-sealed bags of a quarter chicken, one cup of pearl barley, and one cup of uncooked organic baby kale.
I also cooked this package together with the Jerk Chicken one. As I mentioned, be careful with the hot steamed bags!
I actually really enjoyed the flavour of this chicken more than the Jerk Chicken Füdi Meal. I found this one not only not spicy but also the seasoning was a lot more mild and tasty. I really liked it! However, the kale was still a little too chewy for my taste.
Here is another picture of what the final Füdi product looked like. Enjoy! 🙂
Thank you Füdi Canada!
