Right before we went to enjoy some of Toronto’s newest Thai-inspired ice cream rolls, we stopped at Avenue Café + Bistro for a quick bite. Avenue Café + Bistro is literally located a stone’s throw away from the St. Patrick Subway Station in Toronto. Currently, the exterior of the building that it resides at is undergoing construction, so you will have to take an extra look before entering the cafe.
It was a very classy cafe and bistro, one that I can see many business men and women working in the area to steal away for a quick lunch or snack. The prices at this cafe and bistro are on the high side, but after trying the food here, I have to say it was worth the price.
We settled on sharing a Smoked Salmon Sandwich. It came with a salad — Greek Salad was a choice.
We ordered the sandwich and salad, received a ticket holder to place on our table, and our order was very shortly delivered to our table.
The smoked salmon sandwich was something so simple with slices of thick smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach, between two pieces of French baguette, but it was so delicious! The smoked salmon was thick and fresh. The cream cheese was fresh and soft. It was just a really great sandwich. Who would have known?
They have a lot of other desserts and pastries available too!
