Whenever I open my work e-mail and see 20+ unopened e-mails, I know instantly that there have been students who have passed their speed tests. Whenever a student completes and passes a test (you need 95% minimum accuracy to pass), an e-mail is sent out to all of the staff members at the school. Each of us then sends a congratulatory e-mail to the amazing student for a job well done. I just replied to 5 of them. And you know what, all five of these were my students that I taught in Phoenix Theory. ^-^ Now that quite a few of my students have finished PT and gone on to Speedbuilding, I am seeing their results every week. A number of them are FLYING through their speed tests. I couldn’t be more proud of them. If I was more emotional right now, I would be wiping away tears from my cheeks. SO proud, so proud! I can’t wait for more of my students to finish up PT this week and move on and take their first speed tests and soar and succeed.
On the other hand, I’ve also been the recipient of such e-mails when I passed my OWN speed tests. I would also anticipate opening my inbox and seeing if I had a sudden onslaught of new e-mails. If so, a test was successful! I love how my school does this. It’s very encouraging for all of the students. Of course, I can’t wait for my own barrage of e-mails to flood my inbox when I start passing my tests again. I know that will come in time though. 🙂 Enough chatting, time to mark my students’ dictations and work so that they can move ahead.
Edit: I’ve been stenoing the word “congratulations” in four strokes /KUPB/TKPWRAFP/HRAEUGZ/- Z all this time. Brief It just alerted me that I can write it in one (two if you add in the ‘s’)! Geez! What have I been doing all this time lol. /TKPWRAFPGZ/-Z
Edit: I’m pretty sure I marked over 40 dictations today from my students. That’s a record! It’s crunch time since it’s the last week of their current PT courses, so there’s naturally a lot to do. Or my students are procrastinators just like me. Ha!
