This past Saturday, I participated with the Toronto Trillium Lions Club in our first volunteering event with the Habitat for Humanity to work on one of their current build sites. “Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, non-profit organization working towards a world where everyone has a Continue reading →
Whole Foods Market Unionville located at 3997 Hwy 7 in Markham
Last night, there was a Cheese Soirée held at the Whole Foods Market in Unionville. Thanks to a Facebook sponsored ad, I saw this event float up in my newsfeed and I was highly intrigued. For only $5 donation, there was going to be a cheese soirée! This Whole Foods Market was close to me and thus, I thought why not and RSVPed to go. Continue reading →
Toronto Trillium Lions Club Toy and Care Package Drive 2016
Every December, the Toronto Trillium Lions Club gets together to raise awareness and collect toys to support a local toy drive as well as deliver care packages to those in need. I was really glad that I was available this year to join them! 🙂 Continue reading →
August 2016 cleanup at Cherry Beach located at 1 Cherry Street in Toronto
It’s that time of the year again! Another chance to clean up the Canadian shoreline! 🙂 Cleanups should be done regularly throughout the year so that there is less litter buildup and so that we can ensure that the wildlife doesn’t ingest any when mistaking it for garbage as well as preventing as much of it as we can from entering our waterways… but I digress. 😛 Continue reading →
Sandwich Distribution with the Toronto Trillium Lions in Toronto on March 13, 2016
Volunteering! I haven’t done it in a while and it sure feels good to be able to help another being out again! 🙂
This past weekend on a rather chilly Sunday in mid-March, I gathered together with the Toronto Trillium Lions Club to package together sandwiches to give out to the homeless (needy) in downtown Toronto. Continue reading →
By now, most people have heard of the devastating earthquake that occurred in Nepal this past April. According to Wikipedia, it ‘killed more than 8,800 people, injured more than 23,000 and had a magnitude of 7.8M. It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake.’ Continue reading →
My friends and I pulled a 757 Boeing plane last year for the first time as part of the Orbis Plane Pull for Sight charity event. It was my very first time doing it last year and I was so impressed that we were able to gather 25 participants as team GenYTO Warriors to make it over the 15 feet mark in just 8.71 seconds!
This year, I didn’t have the time to organize a team and even though I love the Orbis organization, I just didn’t plan of organizing a team. Continue reading →
I helped plant 4 trees this year as part of Trees Across Toronto! 🙂
I helped plant trees for the first time in spring 2013 when it was part of the DiSCOVER 2013 program events. I love participating in new experiences and planting a tree two years ago was definitely something new that I wanted to do. This year, as part of the Trillium Lions event, I participated again! Yay!
This is actually a yearly event that anyone can participate in as part of the Trees Across Toronto event as part of Toronto’s initiative to plant more trees around the Toronto area. There were many sponsors and partnerships that made this tree event possible. Most importantly, they needed a lot of volunteers to help do the work! Continue reading →
