There’s a $12.99 basic BBQ lunch combo special at Korean Grill House where you get beef, pork, chicken for grilling and also salad, side dishes, miso soup, and rice. The other BBQ lunch combo is the premium one for $16.99 which has beef, beef ribs, and shrimp (and the same other items). You can get this from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with a 13% gratuity fee (and 5% off if you pay cash).
My mom’s friend was the one who told us about this deal and we checked it out at the Thornhill location of Korean Grill House (the Commerce Gate plaza). I hadn’t dined at this location in many years (nor had K-BBQ in a while). It was really nice to check out this cuisine again.
We arrived just before 1 p.m. on a Thursday and there were plenty of tables available for seating. We chose two of the basic lunch combos and one of the premium lunch combo.
There were five types of side dishes (kimchi, pickled radish, beansprouts, spicy beansprouts, marinated tofu). I liked the simple salad a lot.
The meats were all marinated so well and tasted so delicious. I had forgotten how good Korean barbecue was. It was fun to use the tongs to cook the meats. The shrimps were very good and fresh too.
One thing I remember now about Korean grills is that the meats tend to stick on to the grill and you’ll want to change them out for a fresh one so that you don’t eat too much of meats stuck with the black char on them. I liked that the server helped us change the grill for a new one without us asking.
After leaving the restaurant, my clothes smelled of Korean barbecue haha.
This was a great deal though for $13 before tax and tips to get a lunch combo. You can’t really find that kind of pricing anymore in 2025. We were very full from the meal!
I don’t know how long this weekend lunch combo deal will last, so go check it while if you have the chance (if you go before 5:30 p.m., it could even be an early dinner!).
