Meron To Go in Thornhill

Meron To Go located at 11 Disera Drive in Thornhill

We found ourselves in this area of Bathurst and Steeles and I was looking for a quick fast-casual restaurant for lunch.  Google Maps showed Meron To Go as a nearby contender serving Middle Eastern food with high ratings, so we decided to check it out.

Meron To Go has tables for dining in, but you can order for takeout too.  They had a straight-forward menu with many choices on a digital screen.

Complimentary plate of pickled cabbage and pickles

After paying for our order at the counter (there was a short line-up as it was nearing noon), we were given a number on a stand to place on our table so that the staff would know where to deliver our items once it was made.  We chose a table to sit at and a runner brought us some cutlery, plates, and a plate of complimentary pickled cabbage and pickles.  We were asked which sides we wanted in the dishes.

We ordered a Lamb Kebab Platter, Shawarma Pita, and Beef Burger Meal to share.

Lamb Kebab Platter

Lamb Kebab Platter $23

The Lamb Kebab Platter came with a side salad (fresh with a very yummy creamy dressing), pita bread, and a choice of four sides.  I picked hummus, pickled beets, carrots (spicy), and an eggplant dish.  The skewered lamb was very tender and perfectly cooked to medium rare (as per my choice).  It was very tasty and good!  The hummus was super smooth!

Shawarma Pita

Shawarma Pita $12

The Shawarma Pita was only $12 and a very hefty portion.  I could see why so many other customers around us ordered it too.  It was a great deal and tasted very good too.

Beef Burger

Beef Burger meal $20

The Beef Burger Meal (hand pressed, 10 ounces) came with a side of French fries.  It was a good hamburger burger that was nicely grilled.  The French fries seemed to be made with fresh-cut potatoes and tasted good too.  The toddler really enjoyed the crispy fries.

I’m really glad we were able to try this restaurant coincidentally while in the area.  It got busy at lunchtime with many of the tables filled up.
