Too Good To Go Surprise Bags in January 2026

An app where you can save food from going to waste is called Too Good To Go. Participating restaurants and stores will post “surprise bags” of items they haven’t sold for one third of the original price. Everything is good to eat and you get to try foods you wouldn’t normally choose. It’s fun and environmentally conscious too!

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in January 2026. I bought 18 this month!

(Where there is a clear price tag of the goods, surprise bags that meet or are above the minimum value are marked with a green checkmark and surprise bags that do not meet the minimum value are marked with a red X. E.g. If a surprise bag costs $6.99, the minimum value of goods received should be $21 worth.)

What a nice selection! The chicken wings were a little spicy. The chicken pot pie was on the dry side but we could tell that it was made with healthy ingredients. The Spiced Carrot Cake Cookies were actually pretty good; I was surprised that my toddler liked it. The Jamaican Patty was spicy.

Very excited to see one of my old favourite restaurants now on the app! I hope Gal’s Sushi continues to stay on the app to save food from waste. This is a nice sample of all of their side dishes given complimentarily at the restaurant when dining in!

Since we were picking up the first surprise bag during the same time anyway, I figured to try their sweet potato surprise bag too. It’s as the name specifies: an entire container of sweet potatoes. Very yummy.

I was so happy with this bag! It’s everything we eat and buy regularly. We were just in need of carrots too. The romaine lettuce tasted extra good — organic really does make a difference.

Bought this frantically as I realized Flashfood had increased their service fee from 5% to 8% overnight and I was not happy with it. Thus, I bought a meat bag. Unfortunately, this isn’t really the meat I was expecting lol. I wanted items like chicken and not 7 packs of hot dogs. It’s fine though because me and the kids like eating them.

Loved this bag! The couscous salad was tasty and something we enjoy eating. The lunch kit was great too.

I was a little dismayed to only receive two items. The organic chicken really did taste better than usual chicken.

Wonderful dairy surprise bag!! We eat everything here. The sheep yogurt was especially fantastic because it was new for our household and I couldn’t believe how tasty it was! It was creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. 😋 For a vegan treat, the Chocolate Almond Biscotti was very good too (moist).

Nice haul of fruits and veg. The beetroot is something we don’t buy often so it was a nice addition. The microgreens were all very fresh!

Oops, I accidentally bought a second bag lol. The variety is different luckily. The pack of baby spinach quality was subpar.

Gal’s Sushi changed the categories of their surprise bag after the initial launch (no more sweet potatoes or just side dishes). It’s nice to actually get a full meal. It was hot and ready to eat. Both items were very tasty — flavourful rice; crispy and well-seasoned fried salmon head.

The second surprise bag of pork bone soup was a smaller portion than I expected, but the spicy soup was perfectly seasoned and spicy. I feel like they could have topped up the kimchi and japchae more.

This was so delicious!! The beef tendon was perfectly done and tender. The spinach dish had a spicy kick to it. The bilo-bilo had jackfruit in it! Such a great surprise bag.

Had to get a second surprise bag the day after because the first one was so good! What a pleasure to try different authentic Filipino dishes 😄. It was our first time trying palitaw and it was yummy. Soft gooey center rice cake with coconut. The toddler liked it a lot!

Another amazing dairy bag!!! It is a shame that it is rated so lowly and there are always extras left. Everything in this bag is what we like. The ginger molasses cookie was on the sweet side. The kefir was nice to try.
