On January 6, 2026, Flashfood increased their service fee applied on every order from 5% to 8% (max of $2.99 per order) without telling anyone.  Finding this out infuriated me as a long-time and loyal user of Flashfood.

I wrote a blog post about it and also raised this issue on Flashfood’s Instagram page.  I ended up having a phone conversation with the VP of Communications at Flashfood, but they haven’t done anything further about it (like officially announcing the service fee change) which I think is abhorrent and dishonest to their users.

Nevertheless, I still use Flashfood as it is one of the best ways to save money on groceries in this economy.  However, I will be more mindful going forward now to only purchase items that are truly 50% cheaper or better.  I really wish Flashfood did the right thing by being transparent about their fees, but I guess all they see is greed now that the platform is getting more popular and they don’t think it’s a problem to raise their service fees without notifying the users.

Now that Flashfood changed their Terms of Use to say a generic “Flashfood charges a service fee on every order” when it used to say “5%”, they are at liberty to change it any time from 8% to 10%, 12%, or more in the future.  They don’t want us paying attention to the details.

The husband went to pick up the cheese and while he was there, I noticed that the yogurt tubes were reduced to 74 cents per box!  Thus, we bought those too. 🙂  The kids love this stuff.

The very last time the service fee was at 5%.  After this, the service fee went up to 8%!!! 😡
