Looking for $5 tacos that are authentic, tasty, and no frills?  Don’t miss out on this little taco stand called Tacos dos Amigos located on John Street near Woodbine Avenue in Markham.  They are only open on weekdays Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (5 p.m. on Fridays). 

We had spotted this highly rated taco stand a few months ago when we were in the area on a weekday but didn’t get to try it out until now when we were in the area again.  There isn’t designated parking for this taco stand, so you will just have to park your car at the parking lot where the buildings are.  The tacos are made fresh quickly on the spot so the wait isn’t long.  Tacos dos Amigos is cash only, so make sure you bring your coins and bills.

It’s a husband and wife team.  They serve chicken, beef, pork, chorizo, fish, and vegetarian tacos available for $5 each and refreshments like pop, juice, and water.  We ordered the chicken, beef, fish, and chorizo tacos to try.

The tacos were freshly made and nice and hot.  I liked how the tortilla was soft and chewy.  The toppings were fresh and wholesome.  My favourite one was the fish taco!  It was really fresh and crispy.  Each taco also had some French fries in it too.

They included some hot sauce for us to try and I liked the spicy kick.

I really recommend Tacos dos Amigos and their $5 tacos!  Worth visiting this hidden gem on a weekday for a quick and filling lunch.  (There’s no tables or seating for you to sit at.  We literally parked our car, ordered from the taco stand, and then brought the tacos home to eat.)
