Surprise Bags from Too Good To Go in September 2024

too good to go surprise bags in one month

The TGTG surprise bags I got in September 2024

Everyone’s talking about the free app called Too Good To Go!  You can rescue unsold food from going to waste by paying 1/3 of the original price (although it seems that the app has now downgraded to 1/2 of the price now in some cases) and is a chance to try new restaurants and stores too.

A new feature called “dynamic pricing” which has angered users has been put into place on the app too (changing the price of the surprise bag depending on how in demand the bag is at the time of purchase).  It defeats the original purpose of saving food from going to waste and it also voids the reliability of the store ratings.

This is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags that I bought in September 2024.  I bought four bags this month.

(Where there is a clear price tag of the goods, surprise bags that meet or are above the minimum value are marked with a green checkmark and surprise bags that do not meet the minimum value are marked with a red X.  E.g. If a surprise bag costs $5.99, the minimum value of goods received should be $18 worth.)

  • Contents:  4″ Strawberry cheesecake $15, 5″ Salted Oreo cake $38, 2 Portuguese tarts $6.25.  Total value:  $59.25. ❌
  • I was very pleasantly surprised and content with what we got in this surprise bag!  Two full cakes and two Portuguese tarts!  Everything was really delicious and fresh.  I especially liked the fluffy moist cake of the Salted Oreo cake.  The Strawberry cheesecake tasted like ice cream cake actually and wasn’t too sweet.  The Portuguese tarts were cold.  They tasted very eggy.

  • This was a wonderful cake surprise bag!  The cakes were beautiful and it was nice to try these two unique flavours.  The lychee one was definitely a new flavour for us.  It was full of lychee.  The cake part was not as fresh though but still edible.  This came in perfectly for the child’s birthday celebration too!

  • I haven’t picked up a Dairy surprise bag from Longo’s since March of this year when I felt like I wasn’t satisfied with the items I was getting.  Well, now that I’m back on the wagon with TGTG this month, I saw there were surplus surprise bags available so I tried it.  I’m so glad I did because we were running short on whole milk and yogurt.  This bag was perfect!  The items’ “best before” dates weren’t until the 20th and 21st too.
