The 6 surprise bags I bought in June 2025

A free app that you can use to save food from going to waste is called Too Good To Go.  I’ve been using this app since 2023 to try new restaurants and stores and it’s been such a fun opportunity.  The stores that sign up on the app create “surprise bags” filled with items that were unsold or that they had too much of and sell them for one third of the original price.

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in June 2025.  I bought 6 surprise bags this month!

New feature started in June 2025

(Where there is a clear price tag of the goods, surprise bags that meet or are above the minimum value are marked with a green checkmark and surprise bags that do not meet the minimum value are marked with a red X.  E.g. If a surprise bag costs $7.99, the minimum value of goods received should be $24 worth.)

This month, TGTG introduced a referral program (finally) for all users where if you refer a new friend to the app you can get a $2 voucher.  If only they had introduced this program when I started buying from TGTG monthly in January 2024.

June 2, 2025:

FANTASTIC surprise bag!  All of the salads were so fresh and we ate them over the course of three days for dinner.

June 4, 2025:

Once again, got a bouquet of flowers from Too Good To Go!  This was actually the very first florist I saw on the app and I was so happy I was in the area to be able to try them out too.  I actually wanted to try their cheaper bouquet bags ($5.99 and $7.99) but they only had the $14.99 one.  It’s SO pretty.  I love seeing the large blooms in my kitchen — it’s such a nice surprise.  I wonder when I will finish this flower phase of mine. 😆

Edited to add that these flowers actually lasted about 3 to 4 weeks!  I’ve never had a bouquet last that long.

We were curious to see if we would hit the jackpot again and get some more of the turmeric elixir we got in the recent Healthy Planet bag (albeit at another location) and my mom said we wouldn’t know until we bought a surprise bag.  Well, this one is all uncooked and savoury items.  I made a vegan hamburger using the Impossible burger patty and the Silk dairy-free mozzarella slices (from the recent dairy bag) and it was so delicious!

June 11, 2025:

Once again I was passing by a Healthy Planet and couldn’t help but get their surprise bags because they are so worth it.  First time getting their assorted bread bag and really nice to get to try their organic bread!

Wow!!!  Look at what Healthy Planet put into their mixed surprise bag!  Truly amazed and so happy with the quantity and variety of products!  My husband loved the 1.4L bottle of kombucha especially.

June 26, 2025:

SOSWEET TGTG $9.99 surprise bag

This is the third time I’ve gotten a pork floss cake dessert in a surprise bag and this one comes last place in terms of flavour.  The mango cream puffs weren’t fresh either.  I’m glad to have gotten this surprise bag though because I needed a pastry/cake item to celebrate my baby’s monthiversary!
