A fun app where you can save food and enjoy food at a third of the price is called Too Good To Go. I use it on the daily to get groceries, bread items, dairy, meat, and ready-to-eat foods for myself and my family. Restaurants and stores that have surplus or unsold items post “surprise bags” and consumers can buy it and then pick it up in store at a specific time.

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in October 2025. I bought 14 this month!

Not bad even though it’s all of the same thing. It’s a practical item because ham can be used in sandwiches and lunches easily (and we make them every week for the child’s lunches).

Once a year, we visit Kortright Centre for Conservation as part of the Family Day Get Out and Move event and pass by this store. Thus, I couldn’t help but get 3 of their surprise bags! I like how they have new categories of baked goods all the time. The past few bags were meh, but the ones this time were pretty good.

I liked these pizza pretzels! Soft and chewy but with cheese and jalapeno toppings.

Yay! I was so lucky to be in this area for dinner and happened to see this bag available! I haven’t gotten a Maki Mart bag ever since the Markham location started giving undervalued bags. This surprise bag from Scarborough is the best! Tasty hand rolls for an amazing price! (I need to remember to buy two bags next time if they are available because my 5-year-old ate two and a half of these hand rolls by herself!)

So yummy and what a complete meal of appetizer, main, and dessert!! Great purchase. ^_^

I really liked the savoury pancit noodles with vegetables. It’s a umami taste for me. The buchis were interesting too; kind of like fried dough.

Nice to try their pastries and baked goods again after a year or so. Their almond croissant is especially tasty since there is almond paste (?) stuffed inside of the croissant.
