The 11 surprise bags I bought in March 2026

Want to try new restaurants or foods that you wouldn’t normally buy?  There’s an app called Too Good To Go where you can buy items that the restaurant has too much of for one third of the retail price.  This month, I tried two new restaurants right off the bat! 

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in March 2026.  I bought 11 surprise bags this month!

March 5, 2026:

New store on the app!  The items were hot and ready to eat.  The Beef Brisket Baker was huge!

• Contents:  Pack of 12 free-run eggs, Coconut plant-based yogurt small, coconut plant-based yogurt 450g, Betterbrie plant-based aged brie, drinkable yogurt.

Nice to get eggs and some new yogurts that we’ve never tried before.  The plant-based aged brie was interesting too — it’s made out of cashews and a bit dry on the mouth but does resemble actual brie!

March 18, 2026:

• Contents:  4.5 salmon heads, cleaned and ready to be cooked.

Nice to try this bag after seeing all the high reviews.  Cleaned pieces of raw salmon head ready to be cooked at home!

Gal’s Sushi TGTG $9.99 surprise bag

• Japchae and Potato Bag:  $9.99 plus tax = $11.29
• Store rating at time of purchase:  4.5/5 (58 reviews)
• Contents:  A container of japchae and sweet potatoes.

A bit overpriced at $10 but these are their complementary side dishes they offer at the restaurant when you are dining in, so who can really say how much this serving of food costs?  The japchae tasted great and wasn’t too peppery (which it was last time).

March 23, 2026:

Nice to get sliced turkey breast which we can make sandwiches with.  First time getting more than two items in a HP meat bag 😆.

• Contents:  3 packs of microgreens (fresh blend, spicy pack, arugula), 1 pack of strawberries, 8 apples, 1 tomato, 3 crowns of broccoli, 1 red pepper, 1 red onion, 4 red potatoes, 1 white onion. 1 pear, 2 oranges, 2 lemons, 1 lime, 1 potato, 9 peppers.

Excellent variety of fruits and vegetables!! The pack of strawberries was especially nice for our family.

March 30, 2026:

What a pleasure to receive lilies as part of the floral surprise bag!  An amazing deal for fresh cut flowers too.  I will be buying this surprise bag again. 🙂

Whole Foods $5.99 surprise bag

The name of the bag “produce bag” caught me off by surprise, making me think it was going to be whole fruits and vegetables like at other TGTG vendors.  However, the description of the bag does say it would contain fresh cut fruits and vegetables, dips, salads, or pre-washed salad greens.  A wonderful variety actually!   The salsa dips were delicious!
