Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth

Walnut cake, South Korea. December 2011

Winter is here!  That means that we are all searching for warmth, whether it be a toasty cuddle under the blankets on cold night, intertwining fingers next to an open fire’s glow, the feeling you get when that special someone whispers something goosebumps-inducing in your ear, or a simple sweet snack that warms your heart, warmth is something we all love and can’t get enough of. 🙂  This week, I’m focusing on this little snack that I had in South Korea while travelling three years ago.  (Has it already been three years?).  This is a walnut cake and we got several of these as our bus stopped for a pit stop and we were able to see our own breath in the chilly air.

Watching it made in front of our eyes — all machine-made!

This little token of walnut paste that was freshly made before our eyes was extremely warm and toasty in our fingers!  You could see the steam rise out of it when you took a bite.  Pure warmth!
