What I bought on the Flashfood app in August 2024

 Blackberries on Flashfood app

My favourite Flashfood haul this month: 8 boxes of blackberries for $3.17!

Flashfood is a free app where you can buy items from the grocery store that are about to near its “best before” date for 50% off.  It’s been our preferred way to shop our groceries these days.

Use my referral code  KARE4PEFC  to get $5 in rewards in the Flashfood app when your first purchase is over $10.

This is my monthly round-up of everything we bought from Flashfood for this month. This month, I bought $302.86 worth of items from Flashfood.

brioche gourmet buns

2 items for $3.38

  • Brioche gourmet buns $1.60 (original price: $3.19) x 2.
    • Paid $3.38 for two items.

Unfortunately, Rob’s No Frills has done it again:  Put their baked goods for Flashfood in a locked cabinet where moisture and mold can fester quickly.  I should have picked these up on the 10th but we didn’t get a chance to until the last day on the 11th (it’s just one day’s difference).  Both packages had buns with mold on it.  We could only salvage two buns out of the eight.  I sent my feedback to Flashfood about this and a recommendation for the store to keep their bread items on an open shelf instead to reduce mold from reoccurring on their products (not our first time seeing mold on bread from this location; my friend has the same experience).

Update:  They gave me a refund on both items.
