Mobile Game Review:  Goblins Wood – Tycoon Idle Sim

I started playing Goblins Wood:  Tycoon Idle Sim because it was one of the games on AttaPoll (an app that plays you for playing games and completing surveys).  I’ve been playing many games on my phone this year because of AttaPoll and getting paid for it, but this is the first one that I’m reviewing in a blog post.

(You can use my referral code PBZQF to get $0.50 for free when you download the app.)

I was attracted to this game firstly because of the high payout amount.  It said that I could make $3,513.45 if I finished the tiers in 60 days!  That’s the biggest payout amount I’ve seen from a game on AttaPoll thus far and I wanted to try it.  I love playing idle games because I usually let the ads roll when I am brushing my teeth, in transit, or doing something else.  I’ve played so many of the other games this way and made money.

Some tips to help you get through the tiers of this Goblin game faster if you are playing it on AttaPoll too to make money (I spent too much time on this game and acquired these nuggets in hindsight):

  • Use the rubies to skip through time so that you don’t have to wait (use them early so that you can reach level 15 within 3 days and level 30 within 7 days — I didn’t complete these in time).
  • You don’t have to cut down every tree.  Instead, race towards the top and choose the trees that have treasure chests, rubies, or magic dust only.
  • The only merging here is for the goblins, so if you think this is a merging game, don’t be fooled.
  • Visit Goblins Club daily to get extra treasure chests.
  • Have the highest level goblin race towards cutting down the trees towards the top (finish line to the next level) and leave your lower level goblins to cut down the labs for activation.

All in all, I made $26.84 from reaching level 45.  It’s not a lot but it became more fun as I understood how to play it and it’s all relatively during idle down time too.  I wish I knew how to play it efficiently from the start so I could have earned the bonus tiers too.  If I had another week, it would have been nice to reach the next tier of $19.21.  (I stopped playing at level 47 once I realized I wouldn’t finish the game before the 60 days was up.)

Cons:

  • You have to check in often to play (depending on the time that it takes for each tree to be cut down — anywhere from a few seconds to hours).  The goblins don’t automatically go to the next tree to cut down, so you have to open the game to move them to the right spot.
  • A lot of forced ads.  So in addition to watching ads to get a free goblin or magic dust, ads will pop up when you pass a level or activate a lab.  Some ads are 10 seconds long and some can be up to a minute.
