The surprise bags I got in April 2024

Pick up a blind surprise bag from Too Good To Go and save unsold surplus food from going to waste.  Enjoy discounted food from participating restaurants and stores!

I didn’t reserve many bags this month because we were out of the country for a week.  I originally would have liked to get a surprise bag from the states but the only one available to me at the time were broken macarons (5 for $5.99 USD) and I didn’t think it was worth it.  We didn’t have time driving home to grab a bag either.  This month shows the fewest number of surprise bags I have gotten to date.

(Where there is a clear price tag of the goods, surprise bags that meet or are above the minimum value are marked with a green checkmark and surprise bags that do not meet the minimum value are marked with a red X.  E.g. If a surprise bag costs $6.99, the minimum value of goods received should be $21 worth.)

Here are my 4 Too Good To Go pickups in April 2024:

April 11:

Tim Hortons TGTG $4.99 surprise bag

• Pick up time:  6 to 8 p.m.
• Baked Goods:  $4.99 (no tax)
• Contents:  Chocolate Chip Muffin $2.19, Four Cheese Bagel $2.99, Timbits $0.33 x4, Everything Savoury Twist $2.29, Reese’s Mini Dream cookie $2.29, Savoury Pastry $2.99, Tea Biscuit $1.99.  Total value: $16.06. ✅
• It’s one year since we last got a TGTG bag from Tim Horton’s!  I feel like they have upped their game now with a nicer box of varied baked goods.  Such a treat to try this now that my oldest can enjoy more of these goods too.  She dug into the chocolate chip muffin right away.  Everything was delicious.

April 26:

Metro TGTG $6.99 surprise bag

• Assorted Fruit & Salad:  $6.99 plus tax = $7.90
• Contents:  BLT Chicken salad with real bacon bits $8.49, Chicken Greek salad $8.49, Caesar chicken salad with bacon $8.49, Kale-Citrus Salad $5.99, Half cored pineapple $2.99.  Total value: $34.45. ✅
• Great tasting salads!  We finished all of them that night.

Sultan’s Mediterranean Grill TGTG $5.99 surprise bag

• Sultan’s Mediterranean Grill (North York)(Yonge St)
• 5150 Yonge St., unit f6, North York
• Pick up time: 4 to 5 p.m.
• Surprise Bag:  $5.99 plus tax = $6.77
• Contents:  A container of shawarma carved beef, rice, salad, 1 falafel.
• Beef and rice tasted fine but a bit dry.  Falafel tasted good.  Would have been better if they included some hummus or garlic dip as per their “Beef Shawarma” menu description.

April 29:

• Assorted Fruit & Salad:  $6.99 plus tax = $7.90
• Contents:  Avocado Ranch Salad Kit $6.99, C Well Juice $5.99,  Organic Spring Mix $7.99, Half honeydew $3.49, Portabella Mushrooms $6.99,  Small Coconut Chunks $4.99 x2.  Total value:  $41.43. ✅
• So grateful to have gotten this bag in the morning as we were going to be in Stouffville in the afternoon.  What an amazing bag.  Everything tasted fresh.  The juice was a new item for us!
