24 surprise bags purchased in August 2025

I’ve been very active again this month with my favourite food rescue app, Too Good To Go!!!  Stores and restaurants don’t sell everything by day’s end, so they assemble “surprise bags” of a certain value for customers to buy and put it on the app.  It is a fun way of saving uneaten food and saving the environment at the same time.  I got two bouquets this month too now that florists have started posting their unsold flowers on the app too!

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in August 2025.  I bought 24 this month!

August 1, 2025:

The BEST Tim Hortons surprise bag thus far in terms of quantity of Timbits!!  Funny story:  I had a dream that morning that my husband said he wanted Timbits and said, “Well, why not get a surprise bag then?”  When I woke up, I told him my dream and he said it would be nice to get.  So on our way downtown for a trip to Centre Island, I chose this Timmies which was on route and had a high rating.

I couldn’t believe how many Timbits we got in the box!!!  I have a new parenting hack now, which is to get a Tim’s surprise bag for every outing.  The kids and us enjoyed a sweet snack throughout the day and we finished everything except for 19 Timbits.  We would never normally finish that many in a day, so this was really worth it!

I was excited to try this fruit cutout box from this location because my friend got it before and said the fruits were all fully cut and ready to eat and their rating is also 5.0.  A perfect score!  Indeed, it was all fully cut and perfect for an afternoon snack.  ^_^

The green tea passion fruit drink was very refreshing.  It would have been nice to receive something different instead of two of the same drinks.

Beautiful flowers!  My second time getting a bouquet from this florist.  Their surprise bags are not consistent; I wish they were so I can get their flower bags more often.

Too bad these were all the same kind of donuts.  They were taken from the freezer upon pickup.  Taste was average.

So delicious!  I really liked both items.  The butter chicken had a kick to it.  I would get this bag again!

The colour of the eye of round steak did not look good at all.  However, I was happy to get the beef marrow and burgers.

A second bag of meat bag because I didn’t want to waste the trip.  Lots of burgers meant burger lunch weekend for us.  The ground beef blend colour didn’t look great either…

LOVED this deli bag!  Also my first deli bag from Metro.  We were in the area and their surprise bag dynamic pricing had dipped to its original price so it was worth it to buy.  The paninis were so tasty and full of salami and meat.  The snacking cheeses were perfect for us to take to the CNE as a snack too.  Excellent bag!!

Amazing, generous haul!  I watched the lady take these items from the shelves and put them into a bag for me.  I absolutely loved that there were codfish balls included!  So nice to try this Portuguese bakery.  The Portuguese tarts were very dense.  The French bread was perfect for soaking up soup after a meal.

The chicken was a bit over salted.  The Parisienne potatoes were so smooth and soft!  I enjoyed this bag.

Yay, new florist on TGTG!!  This was inside the Shoppes of the Parkway mall.  The owner was very sweet and explained to me that I could prolong the flowers’ life by leaving them to dry upside down.  She also told me the two basil plants could be transported to a pot and watered thoroughly to keep them alive.

The bouquet was nice, but the flowers faded faster than I would have liked.  I’ll still get another bouquet another time to try.

Yay!  I love getting cake bags just in time for a celebration.  This cake for was my baby’s seven months.  It was our first time trying the salted Oreo cake and it was definitely interesting as it was salty.  The cake was so moist.

I wanted to try a Swiss Chalet bag as it had been a while since my last one.  I personally did not like the items in this bag because I don’t eat potatoes.  I like how the bag exceeded minimum value though.

Loved this bag!!  So generous and truly a “too good to go” surprise bag.  The large container of hot food was so heavy too.  We will definitely get this bag the next time we want lots of yummy Sri Lankan food. ^_^
