I had a really great relaxing weekend this week. It’s been a while. Let your hair down and live life slowed down just a little. 🙂
Woke up at 8:10 a.m. on the Saturday bright and early after a good night’s rest. Yay! Got ready, packed a bit for our day trip.
Roundtable breakfast first at the new Lucullus with the peeps. Tried the seafood chowder and it was just okay. We learned a little bit about embracing more about the national training team which will benefit our teams and that we should allow everyone to be more independent than before.
I left promptly at 11:05 a.m and my mom and I boarded the Safeway Tours bus for a weekend trip to Niagara. It’s like a home away from home and a mini weekend trip. We arrived at 2 p.m.
We had a small lunch in the private dining lounge where I engulfed two plates of food. I was so hungry! Lasagna, noodles, squash, ham, black olives and mayo. 😀
We checked into our complimentary hotel room where I surfed a bit and relaxed. It was so nice to have the radio on the Buffalo, Niagara region (listen to some out-of-town station) and relax.
We had an early dinner at Club 21 with my mom, Kerry, and Ken. We had 15 oysters. So good!!! Escargots, rack of lamb, and bone marrow. Yum!! 😀 Not too full. The CLA and Omega helps!
Went to the room once more to do some “post-meal exercises”. Then at 9 p.m., we went to watch Dancing Pros Live at the Avalon Theatre.
The VIP section had food again! Skewered shrimps, cheese balls, prosciutto wrapped around asparagus. Yum!

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres & desserts (only 3 pictured.. got a chocolate and cheesecake afterwards)
I had like 5 desserts. So sweet but so gluttonous. 😛
The show was actually really good and prepared. Hosted by Alan Thicke and Cheryl Burke. Big names! Two rounds of five couple celebrity dance stars. The audience got to vote afterwards. I voted for #5 but #3 won haha.
Back at the room at 10:30 p.m. Surfed (slow wifi this time), showered, and then a relatively early bed time. I was tired. Felt so blessed to be eating good glorious food, watching a show, and stress free. Yay! #grateful 🙂 😀
The next morning, awoke nice and early at 7 a.m. — totally out of my control; I was really well fed on sleep. We had a complimentary massage booked for 9 a.m. So awesome. We had the massage in the same room like a couples massage. I totally fell asleep a few times and heard myself snore at least four times during the entire thing. Hehe.
It was so nice to use the spa’s facilities and take a hot shower afterwards. That spa music and mood. ❤ Oh, and I totally had a mini muffin and a half two at the lounge. #splurge
We checked out of the room, checked our bags, and then proceeded for brunch. What a life. Simple and yummy Chinese fare with a pop of the fried goodness that I’ve been craving lately and finishing off with a bird’s nest soup.

Noodle soups (grouper & vermicelli and chicken & egg noodles), fried soft shell crab, bird’s nest with coconut milk :9
After a bit of time, we left at 3 p.m. and had another afternoon snack at the local restaurant before returning home. This weekend was full of food and really a lot of down time. Pampering yourself is necessary. Not everyone will agree and the fact that I keep talking about this is a sign that I’m still unconsciously feeling guilty at times for enjoying myself too much. Nevertheless, this was a day in the life weekend in my life. Hope you enjoyed reading! :O)

What an eventful weekend!! 🙂
Hehe, thanks Grace. I loved it. A weekend worth enjoying and remembering. :o)
