Flashfood is the best grocery shopping app to save on buying food and non-food items that are nearing their “best before” dates (a fabricated date that doesn’t always have to do with whether the food is fresh or safe to eat; it’s better to use your eyes and nose to see if something has gone bad). With this in mind, you and your family could be saving so much money on buying groceries. We don’t have to buy most bread, meats, produce, fish, and dairy at full price anymore. Flashfood is the way to go. 👍

First time seeing Laughing Cow cheese on Flashfood!
September 6:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Mixed Produce Box (7 boxes of strawberries) $3. Paid $3.17.
These strawberries were so small and very sour. Very different than the other ones we got last month which were big and sweet.
- Mixed Produce Box (33 tomatoes) $3. Paid $3.17.
- Mixed Produce Box (26 bananas) $2. Paid $2.11.
Last time, we got 41 bananas for the same price. It’s still a great deal but what a reduction in quantity!
- Mixed Produce Box (3 3lb-bags of oranges) $3. Paid $3.17.
One of the bag of oranges had a completely moldy orange which was squished by the other ones. I had to wash away the orange pulp from the other neighbouring oranges. I opened some of them that night to try and according to the husband they were very sweet!

Peter & Suzi’s No Frills (Markham Rd/Hwy 7):
- Chicken thighs, club pack $4.86 (original price: $9.73),

- Paid $30.01 for 4 items.
Great deal — especially the salmon steaks which turned out with two steaks in one package, making each one about $3 to $4 only.

When the husband picked this order up with the two kids, my youngest one saw the cookies and wanted to eat one right away. Haha, she is such a cookie monster. You can’t even tell from the photo that one cookie is missing actually; he sealed the package back up perfectly.

I love that I was able to snatch these cartons of milk at 94 cents each when they reduced the price. (They later increased the price back up to 50% off when they realized people were actually buying out their milk lol.)

These white mushrooms were so fresh!! It was also our first time trying fancy chanterelle mushrooms. I can’t believe a small pack like this costs $9.99 at original price…

- Flax & Quinoa Bread $1.75 (original price: $3.49),
- Original Spiced Pumpkin Tarts $2.48 (original price: $4.97).

Our first time trying these pumpkin tarts and they were pretty good! The tart part was softer than expected. The husband said they reminded him of the pumpkin pie from Costco.

One of the rare times where we didn’t pick up the produce order the day we bought it. A few of the tomatoes were moldy and the top of the English cucumber wasn’t looking so good either. It’s too bad our timing didn’t work out…
