…because I like to be all reflective and reminiscent sometimes, this time last year, I was job shadowing a court reporter for the very first time. I still remember how nervous I was. Actually, I still had my student machine back then! Right now, I’m stenoing this from my Diamante as I always do when I’m on the computer. The QWERTY keyboard is almost foreign to me now. I type on it for no more than 5 sentences if I know I have my stenograph nearby. Why use an old-school way to type when I can stenotype at 160 wpm?!
Today, I’m a very different spot in life. I just finished teaching full-time theory classes at my court reporting college — something I never thought I would do, and I’ve shadowed more than just one reporter and in more than one city. Steno-wise, I’ve achieved the minimum speed level required to obtain an interim court reporting diploma from my school. I’ve attended a NCRA conference. And there were so many other things that have happened in these 365 days that have made me who I am today. Will be writing another write-up on all of my experiences soon. Stay tuned… 🙂

It seems like you’ve gone far and wide, Karen! Isn’t it amazing to look back and see how life just unfolds? 🙂
Definitely! It’s so nice to reflect back and see what was happening exactly a year ago from today. So much can change 🙂 for the better, of course!
