We use Flashfood to buy our everyday essentials and groceries. Most of the items that participating stores post are near to their “best before” dates which is why they’re discounted 50% off or more. However, sometimes stores have too much of an item and need to get rid of it for more space on their shelves and they will post it on Flashfood too even when there’s nothing wrong with it. We save so much money using Flashfood every month!
This month, on October 1, 2026, Flashfood once again increased their service fee. It is now a $0.99 minimum service fee attached to EACH order and then it is taxed 13% on top of it (I live in Ontario). To say the least, this unannounced fee hike is truly abhorrent and I hope that Flashfood will change it back one day. No longer will I be browsing for items to buy as they get uploaded to the stores as often or buying items separately.
Nevertheless, I will still use Flashfood to shop for flash deals. Even with the atrocious 99c fee, such deals are better than paying full price in store.

This is what we got from Flashfood in October 2026. We spent $239.54 this month ($245.44 – $0.34 – $5.56).
October 1, 2026:
Loblaws Richmond Hill (301 High Tech Rd, Richmond Hill, ON):
- Veggie Bundle (9 apples, 2 bags of avocados) $3,
- Veggie Bundle (4 packs of white sliced mushrooms) $2.
- Paid $7.12 for two veggie bundles after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
October 2, 2026:
Loblaws McCowan (200 Bullock Dr, Markham, ON):
- Bagel, sesame $0.50 (original price: $2.50),
- Jumbo hamburger buns $0.49 (original price: $3.50),
- Plain mini croissants $0.80 (original price: $4),
- King’s Hawaiian rolls $1.75 (original price: $3.50).
- Paid $3.85 for four items after Flashfood 8% service fee and tax (this was purchased pre-October 1).
Great deal for these items! Wish they had these prices more consistently because sometimes they upload items at 50% off but sometimes at these wacky low prices.
- Banana chips $0.60 (original price: $4). Paid $1.72 after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
One of the first purchases bought with the new $0.99 service fee. We figured it is still under half of the original price and wanted to try the item. It was smaller in size than I expected.. (they didn’t post a photo for this item on Flashfood).
VanSpall’s No Frills (9305 ON-48 RR 1, Markham, ON):
- Mature chicken $7.39 (original price: $14.79). Paid $8.06 after Flashfood 8% service fee and tax (this was purchased pre-October 1).
This was not a great purchase because the chicken is indeed mature and more rough than usual. I won’t be buying this again.
- Garlic bread $0.24 (original price: $2.69),
- Wonder aircrisp buns, everything $0.24 (original price: $3.99),
- Wonder aircrisp buns, garlic $0.24 (original price: $3.99),
- Whole wheat tortillas $0.25 (original price: $2.75),
- Wonder aircrisp buns, jalapeno $0.24 (original price: $3.99).
- Paid $2.33 for five items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Imagine how much less I would have paid for these items without any service fee?! In hindsight, I should have bought more garlic bread!
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Veggie Bundle (10lb bag of red onions) $3. Paid $4.12 after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Good deal for these red onions despite the 99c service fee… Great quality and there’s a lot too.
October 6, 2026:
Ashley’s No Frills (9325 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON):
- 0% Greek yogurt, cherry $0.30 (original price: $3.99) x3,
- Mush overnight oats $0.25 (original price: $2.99),
- 9% yogurt, vanilla $1.95 (original price: $6.79).
- Paid $4.22 for five items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Got a refund for the overnight oats because the package was open upon pickup. (-$0.34)
October 13, 2026:
Rob’s No Frills (8601 Warden Ave., Markham, ON):
- Mild cheddar cheese, 400 grams $1.99 (original price: $5.99) x5.
- Paid $11.07 for five items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
The $0.99 service fee forced me to buy five blocks of cheese because it would be more worth it that way. If it wasn’t a per order fee and so high, I would have normally bought two blocks.
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Arctic char fillet $5.18 (original price: $10.36),
- Arctic char fillet $5.18 (original price: $10.36),

- Fresh Atlantic salmon fillet $4.12 (original price: $8.24),
- Rainbow trout fillet $4.78 (original price: $9.56).
- Paid $65.46 for eleven items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Stocking up on fish! I maxed out on the service fee at $2.99 for this order.
October 15, 2026:
Ashley’s No Frills:
- Chicken broth $0.40 (original price: $0.80,
- Clover Leaf pink salmon $0.53 (original price: $4.79),
- Red kidney beans $0.75 (original price: $2.49).
- Paid $2.80 for three items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
- Maria cookies $1.35 (original price: $4.49) x3.
- Paid $5.17 for three items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
This was a great deal despite the 99 cent fee. The kids love eating crackers. These biscuits are actually really tasty too.
- Oikos Greek yogurt, Pistachio $2.99 (original price: $7) x2,
- Medium ground beef $7.69 (original price: $15.39),
- 4% Oikos lemon Greek yogurt $0.90 (original price: $4).
- Paid $15.89 for four items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
First time seeing pistachio Greek yogurt so we bought it to try. It tasted all right; too much of an artificial taste unfortunately.
October 16, 2026:
Loblaws McCowan:
- Minced turkey $2.25 (original price: $9),
- Chicken drumsticks $3 (original price: $12).
- Paid $6.37 for two items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Loved this flash deal! Wish I was able to pick up more items. (I watched so many turkey breasts disappear; I waited too long to get 3 -4 packs that they were all gone.)
October 19, 2026:
Hashim’s No Frills (681 Silver Star Blvd, Scarborough, ON):
- Turkey drumsticks $3 (original price: $6) x8.
- Paid $26.17 for eight items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Awesome source of protein!
- Mixed Produce Box (73 apples, 1 mango, 3 pears) $5,
- Mixed Produce Box (67 bananas) $5.
- Paid $11.12 for two boxes after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
One box was refunded in full price (-$5.56) because they had reduced the price from $5 to $3.50 (and AI made a mistake on the refund).
October 27, 2026:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Fruit Bundle $2 (24 bananas),
- Veggie Bundle $2 (39 red potatoes),
- D’Italiano hot dog buns $0.99 (original price: $4.49).
- Paid $6.11 for three items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
I added the hot dog buns to make it more “worth it”.
October 28, 2026:
Carlo’s No Frills (6220 Yonge St, North York, ON):
- 2L of 1% milk $2 (original price: $5.99),
- Chicken drumsticks $2.25 (original price: $9),
- Southwestern style pork chops $1.50 (original price: $6),
- 12 cans of Budweiser Zero (damaged box) $7.50.
- Paid $14.45 for four items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
The alcohol-free beer was pretty good! Nice that we were in the area and happened to get the chicken drumsticks and the pork chops (so then we added the milk and beer afterwards).
October 30, 2026:
Jim’s No Frills (10909 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON):
- Omega-3 eggs $3.23 (original price: $6.45) x3,
- Grade A medium eggs $1.90 (original price: $3.79).
- Paid $12.71 for four items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
They accidentally gave me brown Omega-3 eggs for the third box! Only one egg was broken across all four packs.
Ashley’s No Frills:
- 3.25% Dahi yogurt $1 (original price: $2.99) x2,
- 1% cottage cheese $2.20 (original price: $7.99),
- Oikos extra creamy French vanilla Greek yogurt $2.10 (original price: $6.47),
- Protein Cappuccino yogurt $1.80 (original price: $4.49).
- Paid $9.22 for five items after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
They accidentally gave us a pistachio Greek yogurt instead of the vanilla (and the husband didn’t notice at pickup). Sigh.
October 31, 2026:
Hashim’s No Frills:
- Fruit Bundle (31 bananas, 21 green bananas) $5,
- Fruit Bundle (113 persimmons) $5 ,
- Fruit Bundle (6 cantaloupes, 1 papaya) $5.
- Paid $16.36 for three bundles of fruit after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
Super worth it! I got incredibly luckily because the box of persimmons was actually supposed to be a box of apples! We haven’t eaten persimmons in a long time and everyone loves them so we really lucked out! Someone at No Frills uploaded the wrong picture because the number on the number was correct. Even though the persimmons looked meh, they were all very tasty and none were moldy! The cantaloupes and papayas were great too. Awesome purchase!!
- Mixed Produce Bundle (35 Asian pears, 7 dragon fruits) $5,
- Mixed Produce Bundle (2 packs of grape tomatoes, 23 bananas, 1 bag of royal apples, 8 apples, 22 lemons) $5.
- Paid $11.12 for two bundles after Flashfood’s $0.99 service fee and tax.
I got more produce boxes because we were going to pick up the first three anyway. This was worth it too for the number of Asian pears and dragon fruits. The dragon fruits looked really bad and one was leaking juice but after opening it, it tasted fine and didn’t go bad. Another great purchase! I didn’t expect so many lemons in the second box so we gave them away.
First time picking up five produce boxes, haha.
