17 surprise bags from Too Good To Go in August 2026

You can help restaurants reduce food waste by using an app called Too Good To Go to buy their “surprise bags” of leftover or unsold food for one third of the price!  It’s a fun way to explore new restaurants and try food you wouldn’t normally buy.  This means you have to be open-minded and don’t mind trying new foods you might not usually buy.

Here is my monthly roundup of the surprise bags I bought in August 2026.  I bought 17 bags this month!

(Where there is a clear price tag of the goods, surprise bags that meet or are above the minimum value are marked with a green checkmark and surprise bags that do not meet the minimum value are marked with a red X.  E.g. If a surprise bag costs $6.99, the minimum value of goods received should be $18 worth.)

August 15, 2026:

August 18, 2026:

What a nice dessert bag (and so cool to see an ice cream parlour on TGTG)!  I microwaved the caramel dip in the hotel room and I drizzled it on the ice cream for us to share.  The cookie sandwich was hefty but unfortunately the chocolate chip cookie was too hard (even after letting it thaw from being frozen).  But what a cool bag and opportunity for me to try a La Diperie cone finally too! ^_^

August 20, 2026:

Fresh, yummy treats!  (I originally bought this bag because I wanted Chinese buns and the description made me think there might be some.  It’s not even my first time ordering this bag and I got pastries from it before too.  But somehow this time, I thought the bag might be different… 😅.)

Yay, so happy to get a deli Metro bag while passing by Stouffville!  Great items too and we had the three entrees for dinner that night. 😋  The sliced deli meat was perfect for wraps and sandwiches!

I was hoping for milk and eggs! 😅   The tempeh bacon was good.

This was a heavy bag, thus great portions of food!  It was delicious.  We ate this over three nights because the portion was so big.  (I assume the sizes are their large size.)

The chicken skewer was so tender though I wasn’t a huge fan of the sweet sauce.   The dish of marinated bamboo shoots with diced fish cakes was a new dish for me and compared well with the white rice!

August 24, 2026:

Yay!!  I was quite happy with this convenience store/grocery bag haul.  The noodles and chips got me all 😍.

The description of the surprise bag said there could be meats or dumplings.  Alas, they have since updated the description and removed those items. 😞

YAY!!!  SO happy that Loblaws has put their prepared Foods into TGTG bags!  I love this variety and what great value!  All the items were perfect for our family.

I find it fantastic that Loblaws is now a part of TGTG and Flashfood at the same time!!  Can all stores do this too?

The Samosa Pie is to die for.  The sweet and sour chicken with rice was not bad either.

Uhhhhh… not impressed at all.  Not only was I expecting some milk or eggs but I didn’t expect three huge tubs of the exact same thing!!    (It almost looks like the employee responsible for putting together the bags threw it together in a rush.)

But this initial ranting aside, this is still a very usable bag for us considering we prefer and eat a lot of Greek yogurt at home.. 🙂
