The app Flashfood is great. You can save up to 50% off of food that is nearing its “best before” date by buying it on the app and picking it in the store. Participating stores in the Greater Toronto Area include No Frills, Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, and independent grocers and pet stores.
My referral code: KARE4PEFC. When your first purchase is over $10, then we’ll both get $5 in rewards!

- Pork chop centre $3.15 (original price: $6.31).
March 2:
Wholesale Club Richmond Hill:

Lots of mini cucumbers for snacking!
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Lean ground chicken $4 (original price: $8).
March 6:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- 1L of 2% goat milk $0.94 (original price: $3.49) x2.
Great deal for fresh goat milk.
March 7:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Mixed Produce Box (39 onions) $5.
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Sliced pork belly $3.96 (original price: $7.92).
March 8:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Pork loin combo $8.89 (original price: $17.79),
- Coho salmon fillet $4.58 (original price: $9.16).
The store used the incorrect stock photo to represent the coho salmon; it looks like pork in the photo. I Googled this type of fish and it’s apparently very good for you. I’m so glad we tried it and will continue to buy it in the future too.
March 10:
No Frills (Silver Star/Steeles):
- Ginger lemon chews $2.39 (original price: $4.79).
- Mixed produce box (28 Asian pears, 2 bags of 4lb Gala apples, 1 bag of 4lb Ambrosia apples) $7.50.
- Mixed produce box (21 chayotes, 17 apples) $6.
March 11:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Veggie box (4 packs of 1.5 lb cherry tomatoes) $5.
March 12:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Fruit box (7 packs of okra, 3 bittergourds) $5.
Lots of okra! Unfortunately, some of it was blackened and had to be thrown out. One of the bitter gourds was moldy too.
March 14:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Chicken thighs $5.93 (original price: $11.86).
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Fruit Box (32 bananas) $3.
- Fruit Box (4 lb bag of mandarins x3) $5.
March 15:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Chicken drumsticks $4.44 (original price: $8.88),
- Whole chicken $7.85 (original price: $15.71).
March 18:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Chicken drumsticks $4.39 (original price: $8.78),
- Boneless stewing beef $5.91 (original price: $11.82),
- Pineapple & ham pizza $2.50 (original price: $5).
The drumsticks didn’t look so fresh when I picked them up in the store but thankfully when we cooked them for dinner that night, they tasted fresh and fine. First time getting a personal sized pizza like this too from No Frills and it was a treat to try this brand out.
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- 4L of skim milk $0.94 (original price: $4.69).
March 20:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Vanilla chai latte Greek yogurt $0.24 (original price: $4.49),
- Maple syrup Greek yogurt $0.24 (original price: $4.79),
- Greek spiced pear amaretto yogurt $0.24 (original price: $4.49),
- London fog Greek yogurt $0.24 (original price: $4.49).
Nice to try new flavours of Greek yogurt again! The maple syrup one is very good. The chai latte and London fog ones are similar because they’re both “tea”-based. The spiced pear amarette is so-so. The 3 year old doesn’t like that one much either.
March 22:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Whole chicken $4.94 (original price: $9.88),
- Whole chicken $5.53 (original price: $11.07).
March 24:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Marble cheese sticks $2.44 (original price: $6.99) x2,
- Vanilla yogurt Icelandic style $1.24 (original price: $3.79),
- Plain Greek yogurt $0.94 (original price: $3.79),
- Key lime yogurt $0.94 (original price: $4.49),
- Mild Italian sausage $3.49 (original price: $6.99).
The cheese strings were perfect for the 3 year old to snack on; also her first time eating them.
March 25:
Scarborough Superstore:
- Atlantic salmon $4.99 (original price: $9.98),
- Sea bass $6.35 (original price: $12.71),
- Honey maple turkey breast $3.17 (original price: $6.35).
March 27:
Loblaws Richmond Hill:
- Fruit box (21 bananas) $2.
- Mixed Produce Box (3lb bag of grapefruit, 3 lb bag of navel oranges, 4lb bag of gala apples) $5.
I thought the bag had only navel oranges. The grapefruit and apples were a surprise (they were hiding in the bottom of the paper bag). The fruit at this location are always good (better than the Silver Star No Frills).
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- Beef blade steak $6.72 (original price: $13.44),
- Chicken wing split $8.19 (original price: $16.39),
- Chicken breast $6.42 (original price: $12.84),
- Pineapple and ham pizza $2.50 (original price: $5) x2,
- Cheese pizza $2.50 (original price: $5),
- Lamb shoulder chops $6.58 (original price: $13.17),
- Chicken spring rolls $2.34 (original price: $4.69).
The mini cheese pizza actually tastes better than the pineapple & ham one, we discovered. The spring rolls were great too!
March 28:
No Frills (Yonge/16th):
- PEI mussels $3.74 (original price: $7.49).
These were so fresh and delicious! The husband made them in a chicken stock.
March 30:
Superstore (Dufferin/Steeles):
- Mixed berries yogurt $0.60 (original price: $1.49) x2,
- 1.5 L of 2% milk $1.50 (original price: $4.98),
- Snap peas $2.99 (original price: $5.99).
