I’ve jumped on the green juice bandwagon — it’s the latest health craze: grinding up your favourite veggies and fruits into smoothie-like consistency and chugging it all down.
The first day, I mixed an apple, orange, avocado, a handful of spinach, half a lime, and water into the blender. It’s a new blender that we got a year ago with the biggest intentions of using it, but you know how great intentions go.. (they get buried and forgotten). Anyway, it turned out a lot thicker than it should have been due to minimal water in the mix. It was good though, and very filling. 🙂
The second day, I added the rest of the lime (actually threw in a chunk of it with the skin still intact) and added more water and a bit of soy milk. No avocado but the rest of the ingredients remained the same. More liquid-like today and not as sweet since I added more spinach than the first day. I think I’m addicted now to juicing. It’s easy and fun and I get a load of veggies and fruits all in 2 cups. Yay! 🙂
I’m excited to wake up tomorrow to try out another assortment of stuff to throw into the blades. I hope I can keep this up and not abandon it after a week. Haha, isn’t that what happens to most trends? :]
