This week’s photo challenge is definitely creative. It asks us to choose a photo that we would like to feature as the cover if we were to publish a book or album.
I immediately was able to find this photo in my travelling laptop. It captures my first day on a cruise ship when I was travelling in the Caribbeans earlier this spring (has it only happened this year? So much has happened since). For me, it encapsulates an idea that everyone is involved with no matter if they realize it or not. It also is founded from a philosopher’s thought that “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man” (Heraclitus). This is something I learned in my Grade 12 philosophy class and have taken to heart ever since the day I heard it.
We are always changing and growing despite whether we put in conscientious thought to do it or not. Those that do not venture to grow by expanding their knowledge base by learning are still growing. We are never in a vacuum as one thing always causes an effect. Those that purposely seek out fulfillment by enriching their lives with knowledge, experience, and ‘things’ tend to grow faster and reap in tenfold the benefits of change.
For me, it is no surprise that travel is a big sense of growth as you get to see so many parts of the world that you wouldn’t otherwise have. Trying new things, learning, socializing, leaving behind negativity are all hugely influential pieces to your character through the process of growth. This book cover tells the story of millions — change and growth are constant. How much you change is all dependent on how you deal with the circumstances handed to you and how much you are willing to seek out circumstances to obtain perpetual growth.
My question to you is: Are you the person that’s sitting on the cruise ship and unwilling to venture out to the paradise that you see before you? Or are you the person that leaps off the cruise ship immediately to discover unchartered territory? Either way, the ship is going to move forward. What you decide to do in the path that lies before you is all written in your actions.
🙂
Happy weekend, everyone!

I’m the person who take a train or drives instead of being on a cruise ship. 🙂

Yes! That works too 🙂 As long as we are willig to learn and travel with an open mind, those are the best people in my opinion.
Great cover! fun topic: Never the same person, always the best person!
Haha, nice take on my take! 🙂 Love it!
