This is a PSA to my fellow stenographers. You probably don’t need it. But I definitely needed it this morning as I headed to my job for the day. 😀
It was a beautiful summer day in Toronto, not too hot but still a little muggy and humid. I was so confident and excited and a little cautious about my job today for an interview being held at a building that I regularly work out of. Or so I thought :-O. Long story short and to keep my locations private — you don’t need to stalk me or know where I work — I didn’t realize until 25 minutes before the scheduled start time that I actually went to the wrong location. Oops! Lol. This happens because stenographers don’t work out of the same location every day. It’s one of the challenging and fun aspects of this job — somewhere new and unknown every once in a while. Anyway, good thing the correct location was only 5 minutes away and I had been there before — just not on that specific floor. Thankfully I got there still early and was able to set up my equipment before the interview started. I liked how someone left an extension cord in the boardroom too which came in handy.
Oh, and after the hearing was done, I caught some pokemon too. The perks of working downtown where there are many pokestops. 😛
Fun fact: there were 56 exhibits at today’s job. The most I’ve ever had! 56 and counting… It was helpful that the legal assistant was able to stamp them all as the interview proceeded so I didn’t have to do it myself.
