May 26, 2018: Just before heading to see the Aga Khan Museum for Doors Open this year, we went to Shops at Don Mills in search for a lunch spot. We ate at Jack Astor’s and sat on the patio. It was such a nice cloudy day so sitting out on the patio was actually really nice without too much direct sunlight. It was the first patio meal of the year! 😀
I ordered the vegetarian burger which was really good. It was called Hold the Beef and I chose the House Salad as its side. This was my second time having a vegetarian burger. (The last time I had one was at Johnny Bistro’s which also was made with a black bean patty.) I especially liked the abundance of goat cheese in it.

Hold the Beef with House Salad. $15.98
-meatless, gluten-free black bean patty, goat cheese, bruschetta tomatoes, arugula, roasted garlic lemon aioli, balsamic glaze
Ken got the Miso Sesame Tuna Bowl which I was really impressed about as well. Jack Astor’s seems to have improved their game! The ingredients in the bowl were so fresh and the seared tuna was so perfectly done. I liked the crispness of the snow peas and the slight sweetness of the miso sesame sauce.
The service here was really good too. Our server made sure we were content during the whole meal.

Miso Sesame Tuna Bowl. $19.84
-seared sesame tuna, rice, broccoli, carrot, snow peas, avocado, ginger, quinoa, miso sesame sauce
Yay for good and simple meals. 🙂
