Honeymoon Desserts began its first shop in Sai Kung as a dessert shop that offered traditional desserts and modern “east-meets-west fusion” desserts. I remember going to the shop in Sai Kung many years ago after we had a delicious seafood feast at the restaurants in Sai Kung.
This time, the three of us were choosing a place to sit and eat a light snack before dinner and we settled here at Honeymoon Desserts. I was pleased! This was definitely one of the restaurants I wanted to visit before I left Hong Kong during this leg of my trip. Yay!
Of course, I ordered the well-known Durian Pancakes. These are made with real durian chunks inside the cream-filled green-coloured pancakes. It comes in two and is a bright green in colour. I wonder why they choose green? When you slice your fork into the pancake, it is soft and gooey. When you reach the durian part, its smell is pungent but delicious. Who’s a durian fan?! I finished mine way too quickly!
Our friend chose the Thai Black Glutinous Rice with Toddy Palm in Vanilla Sauce. I tried a bit and it was pretty good! 🙂
Alas, we didn’t get another chance to eat at Honeymoon Desserts again before we left home. Next time I’m in Hong Kong though, I will visit again and have more of the durian pancake. ^_^
