Krispy’s Kajun Chicken

Krispy's Kajun Chicken

Krispy’s Kajun Chicken located at 4997 Highway 7 in Markham

There used to be a Popeyes Chicken here where this current Krispy’s Kajun Chicken store now stands.  Ever since then, I’ve been a little curious about this fried chicken shop.  Since I had a coupon from the Entertainment.com booklet for a buy one get one free order of two chicken pieces, we decided to eat here for lunch after a good yoga session at Moksha Yoga.

There were two staff working here at the Krispy’s Kajun Chicken, one at the front manning the cashier and one in the kitchen handling the fried chicken.  Krispy’s Kajun Chicken serves Cajun fried chicken and seafood, biscuits, sides, and drinks just like the other fried chicken chains do.  For Krispy’s Kajun Chicken, however, their food is hand slaughtered Halal which was a great thing for those who require Halal food in this community.

We ordered the combo of the two chicken pieces which came with a drink, biscuit, and a side.  The voucher provided a second exact combo but free of charge.  So awesome!

It didn’t take long for the food to be ready and before long, I was crunching my way into the fried chicken.  We chose two pieces of the chicken to be mild and two pieces to be spicy.  I really liked the spicy version.  It had just enough kick in the spice for it to be so flavourful and delicious.  I absolutely loved the crunchy skin of the chicken as well.  It reminded me of KFC’s flavourful chicken except that this one was even crunchier.  The pieces were a good portion too.  The chicken meat under the skin was very tender, moist, and juicy.  I loved this fried chicken!  It was one of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! ❤

For sides, we got the Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw.  I loved this mashed potatoes as well.  It was very smooth and the gravy was tasty; it had small pieces of mushroom in it too.  It reminded me like a cream of mushroom gravy actually.

Mmm, so good

The Coleslaw was also very delicious.  The veggies in it were finely chopped up and covered thoroughly with the dressing.  This was a great refreshing salad for the end of a greasy meal.

The lady at the front actually forgot to give us our biscuits when I got my order.  I asked her about these after we were done the food and she acknowledged her forgetfulness too.  Thus, these biscuits weren’t included in my original shot of my tray.

I really liked these biscuits!  They were fluffy and a little crunchy on the outside edges.  It was salted enough for my liking and I enjoyed eating these!
