Paid to blog

To be honest, I’m not sure how long this will last because it just sounds too good to be true.  I’m counting my blessings today and thanking Buddha for where this journey is going to take me because I got an offer today to become a paid food blogger.  Yes, paid food blogger, you read that right.

As I was in Asia this past month, I received a message in my social media inbox about this opportunity.  First of all, it seemed legit to me because it was personally addressed to me and was time sensitive (unlike previous ones in the past which were generic and led nowhere after one or two emails).  After replying and explaining that I won’t be able to meet up until I was back in Markham, I let the matter be and didn’t think too much of it.

Fast forward to today, I met up with the man responsible for all this in person and I couldn’t believe what was being offered to me.  I’ll basically be doing what I’ve been doing for years on this blog — eating at restaurants, writing my thoughts and posting photos — and being paid for it all!!!

Again, it feels like a dream.  This is one of the first times where I need to pinch myself and grasp onto this because it sounds like a fantasy.

Perhaps I’m naive in sharing this to my Facebook friends circle (and you) before even beginning my first paid gig, but I really trusted the man and what he said (I hope this is not another path like MA where I began something new, blinded and ignorant, that led to unfavourable results but I am not losing anything by accepting to do this..  I’m not paying anything — haven’t lost a dime — and instead I’ll be the one getting paid!).  Also, as most of you seem to realize by now, I’m all about the documentation of experiences so this is yet another [amazing] one to add to the blog no matter what happens.

Stay tuned, my fellow foodies and readers for more food adventures (as if that was ever going to change, haha).  (Nothing changes, by the way.  I’ll definitely continue to share my personal outlooks on food and my experiences at restaurants — precisely why AR chose me:  I’m honest and blunt in my writing.)

Ahhh, I can’t wait!! 🙂  Things are finally looking up.

This is a terrific opportunity, congrats!

It’s reminiscent of a Spark Reviewer program ran by Walmart that is now closed. I miss it dearly 😦

Good luck with your new food adventures!
