I’m kind of crazy. Sleeping only 2-5 hours per night during this whole trip. Right now, it’s 4 am. Need to finish typing this on my phone to post later and then sleep and wake at 6 am.
Today, went to lots of major Shanghai places! Yuyuan garden, the bund, old bazaar, financial district, nanjing road for shopping, market for buying and haggling lots of imitation goods! (i got a headband, 3 bags/purses, 3 sunglasses, 5 items of clothing at uniqlo). Never thought i would be shopping so much today!
Visiting the Yuyuan Garden:
The dragon sculpture with its body that extended along the wall:

Pretty impressive:
There’s a little toad guy underneath him too!
More sculptures:
Look at the turtles basking in the summer sun!
Lots of Chinese carp in the water:
The day didn’t start off good though. Woke up late from missing the morning call and rushed downstairs to meet everyone in the lobby in 14 mins. Mandy and i had to pay the late fee to treat everyone to frozen treats later. Boo. Kinda ruined my morning bc no breakfast and rushed 😦
The Old Bazaar:
The last time I was here was in the winter of 2007. It was freezing! It wasn’t as crowded as the summertime, that’s for sure.
Mandy got her family name painted and framed in colourful Chinese symbols and drawings. It was really well done.
An uber cute store full of stuffed animals that we went inside of:
Another shop full of random toys and collectibles:
Heading to the Bund:
It was so massively hot that day that we couldn’t stay on the Bund for more than 15 minutes with the sun searing down on us. Some people were complaining. 😛
Still managed to take as many pictures as we could before we left this beautiful sight:
Shopping at Nanjing Road!
Then we headed to an indoor mall similar to Pacific Mall in Toronto where there were little shops that you could haggle from. I think that sculpture there is of the science centre in Shanghai:
At night, we went to karaoke! So fun 🙂 20 Rmb each only for 2 hours. So cheap. Good English songs and nice place. Music videos were actually legit. Found out that the youngest participant in our group was only 4 years old when Britney Spears came out with her song ‘hit me baby one more time’. All of us were shocked and then felt old upon hearing that..
Spent the bulk of my night looking through the trip’s pictures. Today is day 13 and there is only ONE and a half day left of our trip. Omg 😦 sad already. Loving all the pictures i took. I actually wish i took more… Gonna cram in more into my sd card for the last 48 hrs 🙂 thank u 🙂
FLASHback time! Here I was in Shanghai with my family in December 2006!

Visiting pretty much the major tourist spots like this trip except it was during the winter and oh, so cold!
