My Punta Cana Excursion. Part 2

Fri. Dec. 27, 2013

Today was another amazing day in sunny and perfect weather. 😀

Despite planning a full itinerary of things to do, we didn’t quite wake up as early as we had hoped, so breakfast became a brunch.

It was just as yummy as yesterday and full of different varieties. It was almost impossible to try out everything without having a second stomach.  Our restaurant was right beside the beach so we ate in the view of the beautiful blue water and shining waves.

The rest of the afternoon was enjoyed entirely on the beach.  I laid on the sun bed after a dip in the ocean and managed to get a really intense sun burn as I found out later in the day…ekkk.  We also went to the sauna and Jacuzzi.  My favourite was the outdoor Jacuzzi where I spent nearly an hour just submerging my body in the 40 degree bubbling water and daydreaming.  It was incredibly nice.

We then returned back to the beach where unfortunately it was getting windy and cold.  A few raindrops persuaded us to go back in where we showered and then went for a Spanish themed dinner at the Higuey restaurant.  I liked the food but it didn’t seem to have as many themed foods as last night’s Mexican night had.  I still overindulged in everything and shocked Holly by finishing all 3 plates full of entrees and dessert.

After dinner, we enjoyed the show.  Tonight’s was love themed and was hilarious!  The host himself was ultra funny and charismatic.  He chose 4 couples to go on stage to compete in the most gut-wretchingly funny challenges.  It was a good time enjoyed by all. 🙂

Lastly, we finished off the night with the White Party where most people dressed in white clothes for a party on the beach.  It was also entertaining since they also hosted a challenge for volunteers to play a game.  I loved playing in the sand with my toes. :))  It was so relaxing.

Tomorrow is our last full day here..I hope we can make the most of it. 🙂

Today i cooked like a lobster.  My mistake for not hiding away in the shade despite already getting a more-than-enough tan yesterday.. I got too much sun and now I hurt all over. 😦 I was red and pink all over..kind of like a fever-kind of red.

The highlights today were: getting up early enough to see the pretty pink sunset over the waves, getting a wonderfully relaxing massage right on the beach (it was so relaxing that I fell asleep several times and heard my own snores), learned how to snorkel (I still need to learn to trust myself and not freak out by inhaling through the tube — I liked seeing the fish down at the bottom where the rocks were though :)), swimming at dusk-evening in the swimming pool and realising how much I missed swimming (loved treading water, back float, and some kicks), eating at the a la carte seafood Marmiba restaurant.  However, I was disappointed with it because I actually found the variety at the bufffet were much higher quality and better tasting.  Of course, the huge assortment of food helps too, but the food at the buffet seem more fresh, hot, and delicious.  Oh well.

Tomorrow is our last couple of hours at the resort until we leave for the airport.  I’m going to hurt so much until then…stupid me for staying in the sun too long. 😦 sigh

The end!  Summary:  Punta Cana was amazing and I enjoyed the relaxation and food.  It was my first time at a tropical resort too! 😀
