Skyview Fusion Cuisine

Located at 8261 Woodbine Ave in Markham

Skyview Fusion Cuisine is a Chinese restaurant located at Woodbine and Highway 7.  It takes the place of a previous all-you-can-eat buffet that was fairly decent in my eyes.  Skyview offers dim sum, dinners, and banquets for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions.  They also offer free wifi (that is very fast!). 🙂

On this visit, my relatives and I enjoyed dinner here as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations.  We ordered many dishes of food to share which is the norm when dining at a Chinese restaurant.

The food was decent for the most part as I found nothing that really disappointed in the dishes that we ordered (steamed fish, veggies, fish maw, sea cucumber, mushrooms, roasted pig…).  My favourite dish of the night was the lightly battered shrimp morsels.  I liked how each one was encrusted with batter that was made of salted duck egg.  It was so tasty!

The service was moderate.  We had ordered a big bowl of the daily soup and requested it to be served before the rest of the dishes.  They ended up not doing so and served the soup after a couple of the dishes had already arrived.  As well, the order of rice took significantly longer than the norm and we had to call the servers over to inquire about it before the rice finally arrived on the table.  Considering the modern yet upscale look of the restaurant, I expected their service to be better than what we encountered.  However, perhaps this was a minor detail on this night and doesn’t reflect their usual servicing.
