Hi everybody! I’m participating in a 7-day detox again with Nutriclean. This means that for the next 7 days, I’ll be eating clean — no processed food, red meat, excessive sugar, oil, salt, alcohol, and carbs. In the last detox that I did with friends (it was my first detox), I did the intense version where absolutely no meat was allowed. It was intense because you could only eat fruits and vegetables. I had a tough time in the middle of it since I had a dramatic drop in mood due to the lack of meat and iron. For this detox (it’s best to complete a detox every 6 months), I’m going to go easy and enjoy myself more this time around. I’m using the Nutriclean detox kit which contains an advanced fiber powder, release capsules, and a probiotic blend; all of which contain natural ingredients like dandelion root, peppermint leaf, black walnut bark, red clover flower, ginger root, green tea leaf extract, and more.
It’s around 6 p.m. at the time of writing and I notice that for my first day, I’m feeling a little cold in my extremities but not super hungry. For breakfast, I had my usual isotonix supplement drink and an apple. Then I had some boiled Chinese kale (gan-lan) for a snack. For lunch, I met up with a fellow friend who was doing the detox as well and chose some veggies from the T& T Supermarket. I got a seaweed salad, wild black fungus salad, and a soybean and preserved vegetable salad. For dinner, I’m going to have yams and something else to cap off my first day.
Other than feeling cold — it’s been raining and very cold the whole day, I don’t feel any different. I’ve been going to the washroom more than usual though!
I’m not doing this detox to lose weight. I’m doing this to clean out my insides and let my body take a break from digesting heavy and processed food. I’ve been eating out so much over the summer that this is really one of the best things I can do for my body. Onwards tomorrow to Day 2! 🙂
