I originally wasn’t planning to blog about this pub that we went to after the Shop Expo event, but it is still a foodie memory, so here it is. 🙂
Duke of Richmond is a British-style pub that opens until midnight on Thursdays and Fridays and is within 2 minutes’ walking distance from the Toronto City Hall or Toronto Eaton Centre. I thought this was actually a really good spot to eat at after the event since it was so close. They have several locations all around the GTA, with different names like Duke of “Devon, Kent, York, Somerset,” etc.We were a table of five and there actually weren’t a lot of people here on this Thursday summer night. There are lots of seating and spacious booths.
I ordered one of their Basket Bites ($6 each or cheaper when ordering more) while most of the others ordered a full meal. The battered Popcorn Shrimp came in a papered basket with a sweet chili sauce. It was not bad. However, the shrimp was actually really tiny and sometimes there was more batter than actual shrimp. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed it. I liked the atmosphere of the pub and how the server was very friendly.
The food from the rest of the guys actually looked amazing. Portions and prices were reasonable too.

BBQ Chicken Sandwich. $14.99
-grilled chicken breast brushed with a spicy BBQ sauce, served on a rustic bun with jalapeno mayo, Swiss cheese, onion straws, lettuce, tomato and a deep-fried pickle spear

Curried Chicken Karma Masal. $15.99
-fresh tender chicken and vegetables in the new Duke Pubs Curry Spice blend, infused with Steam Whistle Pilsner. Served with fragrant basmati rice, naan bread and Duke Pubs Rhubarb Chutney

Chicken Pot Pie. $12.99
-own traditional recipe. Tender chicken, pearl onions, bacon, mushrooms and carrots in a rich gravy, puff pastry and served with mash and English-style buttered peas
I can’t wait to come back to try their pub food. Pub food is like comfort food. 🙂
Call me silly if you like but I am a very picky about my pot pie lol 😀
Haha, my friend Jason had the pot pie and he said it was delicious..so I’ll take his word for it. It looks absolutely scrumptious!!
Nice! 😀
Delicous post!
