This week, ask me why I am standing in the middle of nowhere (a frozen lake) in the snow all bundled up with a misty cloudy sky at night. Ask me why I was there and what led me there. Ask me what time of the day this was and why I was still awake when many others were tucked in safely in a warm place at home.
Ask me and I’ll reveal the whole story of how this photo came to be. 🙂
Why?
It was the third night that we were in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories in Canada to see the Aurora lights. On this night, it had been snowing heavily and our bus got stuck in the snow on a detour path. It took over an hour and three vehicles to rescue our bus and transport all 15 of us to the VIP house of the tour agency where we were treated to a special snowy photoshoot on the frozen lake of the house.
Ask me follow-up questions if you like! 🙂
Ah, did you get to experience the Aurora lights?
Yes, we did on the first two nights we were there. If we had seen it on the third final night, it would have been like we won the lottery. Two nights were amazing already :).
I’ll start the conversation ….. who took the picture? Great shot by the way and a wonderful take on the theme 🙂
My mom took the photo for me. And thank you! 🙂
My pleasure! 😊
My husband hopes to see the Northern Lights some day. It must have a been a wonderful experience.

Thanks, Janet! Seeing the Northern Lights has been on my bucketlist and I was so delighted to be able to see it! I hope you and your husband get to see them in person one day soon too. 🙂
