I can’t believe this is the final installment of the Weekly Photo Challenges! I didn’t have an inkling that they were going to be concluding this series. I guess I had taken them for granted but it’s not hard to when I started participating in them ever since I started blogging five years ago. The Weekly Photo Challenges themselves have been running for an apparent seven years. That’s a long time and I always thought it would have continued. Gone will be my weekly dig-ups of photos, new or old; my pontification and random stories; and a place to reminisce and write about something creatively. I mean I could always start up my own weekly photo challenges but it’s not the same when you have a whole community of bloggers participating in it with you together. I’ll miss the community and camaraderie that we enjoyed as online blogging friends. Where will the inspiration and creativity come from now? As I’m blogging less nowadays, the WPC also served as the only constant in my blog. Even if I wasn’t blogging or didn’t have time to blog, I always made time for the WPC because it was so fun and didn’t take more than 20 minutes at a time. It was quick and easy. How will my blog find that constant again?
In any case — I guess all good things come to an end (such a sad but true statement in some cases such as this) — here is my final photo challenge for this week and forever (until something else comes along). We were asked to choose some of our all-time favourite photos. I’m not sure if I have one. The ones that I do favour the most are of people and of my loved ones and I’m not comfortable sharing something that personal here on the net in photographic form. Thus, here is a much loved and classic photo that my bb and I took in our early days of dating. 🙂
Great post, will miss it for sure!
Thank you. Can’t believe they decided to end it. I wonder what the reason was… And also thanks for checking out my Instagram page, Erica! 🙂
Me neither, I wonder too! You’ve gotten to visit some lovely places, I so wish I had some of those noodles you posted, looks so yummy!
Thank you! Perhaps you can find a restaurant near you too that has such noodles! 🙂
Think we all agree on this one, sadly. Love your choice
It’s so sad for our blogging community. We all looked forward to Wednesday postings! And thank you. 🙂
I’m with you, I find this sudden change so sad. It was a true community. I managed the shift from Fridays to Wednesdays, though that took some getting used to. I hope someone fills the gap.
It’s a pity that WP has stopped this. I had hoped that they got a kick out of offering this service. I do think it enlivened WP and was a plus that competitors like Blogger lacked.
I’ll keep checking in here, but it won’t be the same.
I wished WP understood our dedication and enjoyment of this feature. There’s less reason to stick with them if they say increase their prices.
Me too. I remember being upset about the shift from Fridays to Wednesdays at first but it turned out to be an easy change of routine.
Your words “dedication and enjoyment” ring so truly! We loved it and were dedicated to remember “Wednesdays at noon” to check in and post.
Is it really a cost issue then? I’m still not sure what the reason for stopping this is…

I was thinking about these challenges today and wanted to look up some of the people’s pics who posted. I really like this one, it reminds me of where we live and when we hike. Maybe I’ll just have to start a new weekly challenge on my blog haha
Thank you. I sure miss these days. It would be nice to participate in them again! 🙂 Thanks for stumbling upon mine!
