Facial Sheet Mask Review: BCL Momo Puri Jelly Mask – Peach Ceramide Water and Lactobacillus Blend

This Japanese sheet mask smelled SO fragrant!  It’s definitely the thing I noticed first when I pulled it out from the pouch.  BCL Momo Puri Jelly Mask is yet another Japanese mask I picked up while at the HK Airport before boarding.  The slim box package only contains four sheet masks (making this a very luxurious one).  It’s a jelly mask, something I don’t think I have tried before.  It has “peach ceramide water and lactobacillus blend”. Each sheet mask contained 22 mL of jelly/essence.

Other than the words of this blog title which I got from the package (that the sheet mask consists of peach ceramide water and a lactobacillus blend), everything else on it was in Japanese.  I noticed in the instructions that it said 3 to 5 minutes with 10 minutes as possibly the maximum.  I was surprised because most sheet masks call for a minimum of 10 minutes to be put on the face.

Because I was unsure, I used the trusty Google Translate app with the camera function to instantly turn the Japanese characters into English.  It worked well enough for the most part and indeed, the sheet mask called to be put on the face for 3 to 5 minutes (maximum 10 minutes) and for the remainder of the jelly to be left on the face for extra moisture.

As usual, I never follow the instructions on facial sheet masks exactly.  After 10 minutes on my face, the sheet was still damp and full of essence.

A few more notes about this sheet mask:  I like the small plastic packaging.  It makes it easy to travel with.  While the sheet mask itself was not drenched with the essence (or jelly), when I squeezed the rest of the jelly from the pouch, there was a lot of it.  I used it on my forehead and the jelly was thick and “jelly”-like.  It didn’t run down my face like essence from other sheet masks usually do.  I quite liked this mask.  While having it on my face, my face felt so cool and soothing with the cold jelly.

The sheet mask was a very thin cotton-type and melded on to my skin so well.  It wasn’t “papery” at all and when I had it on my face, it actually looked translucent on my skin.

I ended up pulling off the face at around the 30-minute mark, sooner than I would have normally but this was already on my face much longer than what the instructions called for.  The sheet mask was still very damp with the jelly, so technically I think I pulled it off at a good time.

I liked this jelly mask, but it is definitely pricier than other ones with only four sheet masks inside the box.
