This month, I noticed that Flashfood removed the notice that shows you how much the service fee costs.  It used to be 5% (since May 2024), then they changed it to 8% without notice in January 2026, and now, August 2026, they removed the percentage number completely.  Currently there is just a generic explanation about a “service fee” and for you to visit their website for additional details.  Buyers, beware.  I think Flashfood will be increasing the service fee again in the not-too-distant future and consumers won’t even know it until they manually crunch the numbers.  Shame on you, Flashfood.

Edit:  I investigated further and this is what Flashfood has on their website currently:

How infuriating. 😡😡😡😡  What determines the “variable” for them to increase or change the service fee?  Would they ever decrease it? …

Despite it all, Flashfood still offers incredible savings for groceries so I will be using the app still but I’m more mindful of what I buy and take note of the prices more than before.

This is what we got from Flashfood in August 2026.  We spent $287.01 this month.  (It’s lower than usual — I wonder if the four days out of town made a difference?)
