Desserts at Caffé Demetré [Defunct]

Located at 100 York Boulevard in Richmond Hill

I’ve been to Caffé Demetré for dessert at this location in the past.  It’s a really nice and modern restaurant that specializes in only desserts and drinks.  Talk about a sugar rush!  They have a huge menu full of waffles, ice cream, cakes, crepes, coffees and teas!  It’s a great place to go to hang out with friends for a late night chat over some sweet treats which is what Jen and I did on this Saturday night.

The seats are very comfortable with lots of space for you and your friends.  The service here was amazing; they had more than enough servers to cater to each table even though the place wasn’t packed at 11:30 p.m.  I loved how they were truly interested in catering to our table and making sure that we got what we needed.  When they came to check up on us, the care and attention was genuine.  It’s rare to see that in a restaurant.  It made me feel all warm inside which is why I’m writing so much about their amazing service.  It would be nice to see more servers like this, although I understand that it’s just a job to them.

Tongue Depressor. $10.85
-chocolate paradox iced cream, fudge brownies, triple fudge sauce, white & dark chocolate chunks

Whenever I get a dessert menu placed in front of me, there’s an 80% chance that I’ll choose something chocolaty.  I did so in this case!  I chose a chocolate crepe called the “Tongue Depressor”.  It included an assortment of chocolate paradox iced cream, fudge brownies, triple fudge sauce, and white & dark chocolate chunks all piled into one gigantic masterpiece.  It was the ultimate choice for any chocolate fanatic.  Jen and I shared this and found the portion to be more than enough for more of us!  It was quite sweet and not the best idea to be eating this at midnight, but once or twice in a while is okay.  The fudge brownie pieces were really good despite being sweet.  I liked the chocolate paradox “iced” cream as well!

Say Cheese-cake! $8.25
-rich creamy New York cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, real whipped cream

Jen ordered the classic cheesecake called “Say Cheese-cake!”.  Cute lol.  It was a rich creamy New York cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, and real whipped cream.  I ended up taking this home to enjoy because we were already so full from the chocolate crepe.  I really liked this as the cheesecake was creamy and tasted great. 🙂

I’m sure I’ll come back to Demetré in the future.  It’s a great dessert place with so many choices that you can’t try everything all in one go.  They have a lot of amazing creations too!
