After our really fun game of archery tag, we drove five minutes down the street to the local Turtle Jack’s Muskoka Grill to have dinner. We were a group of 10 people and got a nice long table in a semi-private part of the restaurant.
I’ve been to Turtle Jack’s before; the one in Richmond Hill on Vogell. I remember not having a very good time there for dinner and was opposed to going to a Turtle Jack’s again in the future due to the poor food that we had. However, for Tam’s birthday, I was totally fine with going there to eat since it was her choice and for myself to try again and see if their food disappointed again or if they would surprise me with a better impression.

The exterior and interior of this Turtle Jack’s looks exactly the same as the one in Richmond Hill. All of them must be exactly the same too then!
Turtle Jack’s has a really fast wifi system that I love. Their menu hasn’t changed from the last visit when I was there. On this visit, I was craving something hearty and traditional, so I chose the Chicken Parmesan.

Chicken Parmesan. $17.99
-fresh chicken breast lightly dusted in seasonal bread crumbs, pan fried and topped with pomodoro sauce and mozzarella cheese. Served on a bed of pappardelle noodle and tossed in a tomato pesto cream sauce
When it arrived, I was greatly disappointed with how it looked. The mozzarella cheese on the top of the two chicken breasts looked so bad. It resembled a patterened mess that you see after you microwave food… The chicken breasts were also very thin and not fresh like they said in the description. It was just a very bad dish; very low quality. The pappardelle noodle were tossed in a tomato pesto cream sauce and were thin and lanky. I was hungry and it satisfied my hunger but I really didn’t like this dish at all.
Tam got the Hell-of-a-burger and her boyfriend got the steak:

Hell-of-a-Burger. $15.49
-red onion, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeno rings, bacon, jalapeno harvati. Drizzled with cheese sauce
Since it was Tam’s birthday, the restaurant was nice enough to provide her with a complimentary piece of brownie and ice cream dessert. I tasted one bite and it was delicious! A dessert well done.

Skor Brownie Obsession. $8.99 (complimentary for Tam’s birthday)
-a warm piece of classic fudge brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and Skor pieces
All in all, I had a good time at Tam’s birthday with her friends and company. However, this visit to Turtle Jack’s reconfirms what I think about their restaurant and food. I don’t like their food and I think it’s not a cheap meal either. Sorry!
