Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a Yelp Elite Event at a new-ish Pakistani casual restaurant called Aunty’s Kitchen in Mississauga.  A Yelp Elite Event is an invite-only event where the organizers of Yelp GTA select Yelp Elite members to dine in on a pre-selected restaurant to celebrate and thank them for their contributions on Yelp.ca.

This was my fourth YEE and I was very thankful to have been selected to be one of the 50-ish people to attend.  I know that not everyone gets into the wait list and that Yelp Elite Events are always Continue reading

New York in Spring 2017 Day 1: Take off!

 Dinner selfie

Dinner at the airport before flying!

This blog post comes nearly three months after we actually went to New York in April of 2017.  Oops!  With transcripts and work and being tired for two weeks after the trip and letting everything pile up, I had created another backlog for myself and thus never got around to blogging about this trip that we had.  But no more!  It’s going to be blogged this week before we head to another foodie city. 😀

This blog post covers our trip to New York starting on April 27, 2017!

I’ll begin with our dinner and Continue reading

Chi's Congee & Noodle House

Chi’s Congee & Noodle House located at 1177 Central Pkwy W, Unit 66 in Mississauga

Last weekend, we came here for lunch with Ken’s family.  Chi’s Congee & Noodle House is a standard Cantonese restaurant that serves rice, noodles, congee, stir-fried dishes, soups, and the like.  It’s located in the busy and popular Golden Square Centre in Mississauga.  The last time I was in this area was for the media tasting of the nearby Moral’s Village!

We were here at 1 p.m. and Continue reading

Morals Village Mississauga event

Morals Village Mississauga located at 2-1177 Central Parkway W in Mississauga

On November 10, I had the pleasure to be invited to attend the Grand Opening Event of Morals Village opening their fourth location in Mississauga!  This hot pot restaurant franchise originated in China with more than 600 stores and since has expanded to Toronto.  They currently have three shops in the Greater Toronto Area with a planned fifth shop to open in Ottawa next year!  It’s an exciting time for hot pot restaurants in Toronto and especially for those who like to hot pot!   Continue reading

As part of Tam’s birthday festivities this year, she celebrated with an escape game at De Code Adventures in Mississauga.  De Code Adventures has opened for more than two years already but it was my first time hearing about them and thus my first time playing one of their games.

I love playing escape games and I was very looking forward to seeing what this one would be like.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treat

S’Mores Dip at Ballers’ Bistro. October 2015

A treat is something sweet, something that you get for free, and a pleasure to receive.  Recently, I was extended an invitation to the newest and only snookball playing venue in Canada called Ballers’ Bistro.   Continue reading

Playing Snookball at Ballers’ Bistro!

Located at 600 Matheson Boulevard West, Unit 4 in Mississauga

I was honoured and pleased to be able to attend a pre-opening party at Ballers’ Bistro in Mississauga.  Ballers’ Bistro is the first restaurant in Canada to offer snookball entertainment!  If you don’t know what snookball is, it’s basically a hybrid of pool and soccer.  There is a giant life-sized pool table where you use your feet to hit the pools balls (these are soccer balls painted as pool balls) to play a game of pool.   Continue reading

Dinner at Turtle Jack’s Muskoka Grill (Mississauga)

Located at 108 Courtney Park Drive in Mississauga

After our really fun game of archery tag, we drove five minutes down the street to the local Turtle Jack’s Muskoka Grill to have dinner.  We were a group of 10 people and got a nice long table in a semi-private part of the restaurant.   Continue reading

First Time Playing Archery Tag at Archery Terminal!

Located at 1100 Courtneypark Drive E, Unit 3 in Mississauga

There are so many fun activities and social events that you can do around the city, one of which is archery tag!  I’ve seen so many friends post their pictures after playing at various archery tag locations around the city that when Tam invited me to her archery tag birthday party, I was super excited.   Continue reading

Lunch at Moxie’s Grill & Bar in Square One

Located at 100 City Centre Dr #2 in Mississauga (inside Square One Shopping Centre)

Wow, I was so impressed with the food that I had here at Moxie’s!  We all know that a few years ago, chain restaurants like Moxie’s didn’t serve the best tasting or coolest choices of food, or at least for me, their reputation wasn’t very high on the foodie list.  However, Moxie’s has upped their game in terms of the food quality in the last couple of years and I have to say I was so happy and satisfied with what I had here.   Continue reading
