The title of this blog post is a bit of a misnomer because I actually didn’t have any seafood at this restaurant called Win’s Seafood Restaurant. I was recommended to eat lunch at this restaurant by my mom and her friends. Their lunch combos are very cheap and affordable! I was quite curious to try it out.
Win’s Seafood Restaurant is located in Markham on 16th Avenue near Rodick Road. It’s a decently sized Chinese restaurant with free wifi. On this visit, we ordered their well-known fish ball rice noodle soup and curry chicken rice.
It didn’t take long for the food to arrive and the portions were decent. For only $6.99 for each dish, it was quite a sizable lunch! The deal also included a drink of your choice.
The curry chicken rice arrived with the curry chicken separated from the white rice. The curry was not very thick but rather more soupy. I really enjoyed the pieces of chicken because the meat was so tender and smooth! The curry wasn’t very spicy either.
The fish ball rice noodle soup was a really big bowl. Previously to the restaurant editing their prices, this meal used to be only $4.99! After a while, they changed it to $5.99, and then soon after, to $6.99. Most impressive was how there were actually six fish balls within the bowl of rice noodles — they were so generous! I really liked the light and subtle taste of the fish in the soup; it was authentic fish soup (made with fish)! I thought that it was a very decent lunch and meal.
I’m sure I’ll be visiting again sometime in the not-too-distant future and try some of their other lunch options and maybe even a dinner too to feel out their restaurant vibe and their seafood (their namesake).
Have you been to Win’s Seafood Restaurant before? What was your experience like?
