Upon seeing this week’s photo challenge of the word “spare”, I immediately thought of this photo that I posted recently on my blog post to Frankfurt, Germany. After we had lunch at a restaurant near the Rhine River, we walked outside and saw that there was an outdoor exhibition project collaborated by some university students in which they used SPARE materials that are not recyclable or reusable to create ‘seats’ for people.
The project was from Hochschule Koblenz, the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, to raise awareness about the junk that we throw out and which cannot be reused. It takes many years for these substances to break down.
One of these materials that they used were tires. Tires which make me think of ‘spare’ tires. Hence, the choice photo of this week’s challenge. In essence, the rest of the materials are also ‘spare’ and these all contributed to extra or ‘spare’ seats that weren’t available before.
.. I love puns. 🙂
I love puns as well so this shot make me laugh with its perfection for the challenge.

Aw, thanks so much, Janet! 🙂 Thanks for appreciating it!
It’s something I would have done in a second had I had any shots like this.
Luckily, it was the first picture I thought of since I had just posted this photo in a recent blog entry. I strive to make my photo challenges fun like this too every week, but we all know it’s not always easy to remember having taken these shots sometimes. 🙂
I know. I have thousands, no, probably tens of thousands, of shots. It’s definitely difficult and even if you know you have the right shot, finding it in the files can be an entire adventure.
Haha, I totally agree! So many photos that it’s really not easy to find the ‘best’ one for these challenges. I think if I heavily invested my time at it, it would take me the full day to finally post it as an entry!

I love clever puns, and this is one of them.
Thank you! 🙂
