And also the first time we were on the record until 6:30pm. #tired but very much awake because they kept asking for readbacks today. First, it was the questioning attorney and then the witness picked up that readbacks were possible and relied on me to read back many questions. I made sure I got all the questions crystal clear. Then defending attorney asked me to read back his client’s answer because they apparently said the wrong word. After that, the readbacks were fewer in between. 😂 Coincidence? But really, I had to be on all my toes for this one. Despite being lengthy, the day actually flew by.
Never had so many readbacks before in one day. 😀 Happy to say I nailed all of them except for one last one when we all couldn’t hear what the witness said and the witness ended up repeating themself. #yay
Today, learned:
-the videos are taken in 115 minute chunks (awesome for breaks)
-a witness can read/correct a transcript before it’s published
-US depos can go very late
-to better understand a difficult accent 🙄
