Thoughts you have when you wake up from a herd mentality

It’s only after waking up when you realize how stupid these quotes sound when you share it for the sake of being an “entrepreneur”.

In my opinion, a real “entrepreneur” doesn’t actually call him or herself an entrepreneur.  Someone who is actually out there, creating their own product and brand from scratch, works so hard that all they share is their progress or their product to people who ask.  “Hey, what do you do?” “I sell homemade cupcakes” or “I design Snapchat filters”.  You don’t really hear of Continue reading

Moji Japanese Eatery

Moji Japanese Eatery

Moji Japanese Eatery located at 8362 Kennedy Road Unit A6 in Markham

Moji Japanese Eatery is one of the newer Japanese restaurants to hit Markham and has been making waves and beckoning people (like me) to go and try their food.  I wonder what their name, Moji, means?  It actually reminds me of “emoji” just now. XD

Moji Japanese Eatery is located near New Kennedy Plaza (or Peachtree Centre) among the pack of restaurants.  There was lots of parking available on the lot and I was the first one to walk in at 6 p.m. on a Monday evening.   Continue reading

I had the pleasure to be invited to the 3rd Annual Coconut Festival & Marketplace this year by Mark to sample various foods and products from this popular coconut festival.

For Aileen’s reunion get-together this past weekend, a group of us met up at Platito Filipino Soul Food for dinner.  Reservations were set at 7:30 p.m. for 15 people (despite some difficulty booking one table for everyone to sit together by Patricia but it worked out in the end) but we didn’t start ordering food until 8:30 p.m. or so (you know how it is with big groups).   Continue reading

Sushi Burritos at Rolltation!

Rolltation Classic Salmon

Rolltation located at 207 Dundas Street W in Toronto

Yay!  I finally got to experience the sushi burrito craze!  The first sushi burrito I saw floating around the social media channels online was a sushi burrito outside of Canada.  (Yes, it is a cross between a sushi roll and a burrito.  Who doesn’t love all the contents of a sushi rolll inside a big burrito? :p )  Then all of a sudden, there was one available from a food truck in Toronto. Dolphin Discovery, Cozumel, Mexico. April 2014

One of my fondest memories and achieved bucket list items to date was swimming with dolphins — which I got to do two years ago in Cozumel, Mexico.  This was with the Dolphin Discovery company.  Upon arriving at the dolphin lagoon, I saw this beautiful frame of dolphins revealing the dolphin swims available there.   Continue reading

Fran’s Restaurant

Fran’s Restaurant located at 200 Victoria Street in Toronto

I’ve been to Fran’s Restaurant before, also for dinner right before a musical performance since Fran’s is located right across from Massey Hall and a very short walking distance from the Ed Mirvish Theatre.  It had been several years since I had last been there though so I was eager to return and dine here again. 🙂   Continue reading
