The Fat Beet located at 7330 Yonge Street in Thornhill
Thanks again to social media, I was educated of a new restaurant that has high reviews and been recommended to try. The Fat Beet can be considered a vegetarian restaurant based on the number of vegetarian dishes they have on their menu (and also, its name highly suggests a vegetable-serving restaurant). However, they actually do have some meat and fish dishes on their menu which negates my initial understanding that they were purely a vegetarian restaurant. Continue reading

Thanks to Jenny of @itsjenyu and Michael of @cravethe6ix, I was able to taste the seafood dishes from The Boiling Harbour ahead of its opening day. The Boiling Harbour is a seafood boil restaurant located at 3175 Rutherford Road in Vaughan at the Vaughan Mills Plaza. (It’s tucked away in a little corner so when you arrive in, look for Marcello’s which is right beside it.)

A memorable morning. In November 2014, I went to Jeju Island in South Korea for vacation with my family. When I woke up in the hotel resort, I looked across the balcony and saw cows on the hills in the distance! This photo is zoomed in but I still remember what a pleasant morning that was to see these peaceful animals munching away in the morning light. There was classical music playing outside too. Raclette Suisse at the Front Street Foods at Adelaide Place at 150 York St /181 University Ave
Raclette Suisse offers a unique cheese dish experience. A full wheel of Swiss Raclette is heated up so that one of its sides is super gooey and melted. Then, the chef uses a knife to scrape off the bubbly cheese onto a dish, usually with roasted potatoes. The process is a beautiful one and one that I have admired since watching a viral video of it on social media. I was adamant about trying it one day as I am a huge foodie and cheese lover, especially of gooey melted cheese! ❤ Continue reading
So much food waste 😦
Not many people know this about me but I am a huge advocate of food saving and eliminating food waste as much as possible. What this means is that when I go out to a restaurant, when there are leftovers, I will always pack it home to enjoy the next day because I don’t want the food to go to waste. When I go out to eat with family, I will even take it further by bringing our own Tupperware or glass containers in case of food leftovers so I don’t even have to use their containers (especially those non-eco-friendly Styrofoam ones) to cut down on disposable waste. Toronto is in the midst of a crazy ice cream trend right now and one of those trendy ice cream dessert parlours is Sweet Jesus. Sweet Jesus rose to fame on instagram last year with its high toppling soft serve ice cream decorated with cookie crumbs, cotton candy, brownie bits, and more. After our lunch at Wilbur Mexicana just ten minutes down the street, Helen and I headed here to try to see if the line-up would be short enough for us to try this trendy dessert place on a summery Saturday.
