April 21, 2018: After the Float Your Fanny event, we headed to Dreamers’ Cafe for lunch. When Amanda asked me if there was a restaurant in the Port Hope area that I’d like to try for lunch, I chose the Dreamers’ Cafe. Dreamers’ Cafe is located in downtown Port Hope and is one of the cutest cafes! I had previously stopped by on my last visit to Port Hope and highlighted how the interior is European-styled and boasts a lot of drool-worthy dishes at an affordable price. They also have lots of beverages, pastries and cakes, and even ice cream.
On this visit, we dined in and tried their lunch selections as well as a slice of cake and of course their famous “Crazy Cookie”!
For lunch, we had the Lobster Bisque with Lobster Panini (Sandwich and Soup Combo) and Shepherd’s Pie with Caesar Salad.
I really liked the Lobster Panini and how gooey and cheesy it was although at first look, it looked really flat to me. The Lobster Bisque was good too but a tad on the salty side.
The Shepherd’s Pie with Caesar Salad was a great comfort food item. The Shepherd’s Pie was especially fitting on a cold and chilly spring day.
For desserts, I chose the sky high chocolate cake. It’s so hard for me to say no to chocolate cakes even when there are so many other choices that I could have selected. They have so many types of cakes and they all looked so inviting and appetizing.
This Five Layer Chocolate Cake was definitely one of the biggest chocolate cakes I’ve had. It had five layers! It was very yummy. 🙂
Also, like I had said on a previous visit, I wanted to try their Crazy Cookies. Their Crazy Cookie is made with caramel, chocolate, and pecans in a five-hour baking process. For those that like chocolate, caramel, and pecans, this is the perfect cookie!
I’m really glad that I was able to try the food and desserts from Dreamers’ Cafe this time around. I’m still curious about the other selections on their menu as they have quite a selection! Thank you for having me, Dreamers’ Cafe! 🙂
