Some of you are going to hate this post, but it doesn’t matter because it’s all in your perspective and how you want to handle the “curveballs” that life throws you.
This morning, many Torontonians woke up to a white and wintry view outside their windows. “Where’s my spring?!” “Screw you, mother nature!” “Ugghh!!” and other disgruntled comments and pictures of the sudden snow on the ground flooded my Facebook feed. While it is indeed not the “norm” or ideal to have some light dusting of snow in the season of spring, I don’t really think the snow is a big deal. Why are people so upset about a little cold temperature and precipitation that reminds them of winter? I don’t get it.
Last year, we had snow in April too! Does anyone remember that? I remember it because I actually wrote a blog post about it lol. View it by clicking here.
I think we should cherish what is given in front of us every single day. Even though many people are looking forward to some sunny and warmer weather after the “brutal” winter that we’ve had, complaining and moaning about something you can’t change won’t make your day any better. Instead, choose to be grateful. Choose to be happy. Choose to be thankful that we get to see “one more day of ‘winter'” before we get many sunny and warm days. There are actually many people that enjoy colder weather and don’t mind the cold (can you guess which type of weather I prefer?). Life is what you make it, so choose to be a Cheery Carol instead of a Debbie Downer.
Some positives for today: Last chance to take a picture of some beautiful snow on the ground! A chance to treat today’s snowfall like the first snow of the year again — everybody gets SO happy about that, so why is today’s weather any different? It all depends on your outlook and how you choose to look at life.
Choose happiness!! 🙂
